Dream Paralysis

I have had this happen to me too often, and it used to terrify me. I felt as if someone was in my bedroom holding me down and preventing me from screaming for help.

This changed one night after I read a wonderful book called Psychic Dream Walking. It explains this happening. The author explains that it has been said when you awaken suddenly, this means that you have awaken prematurely. When you sleep your body does become paralyzed, but when you wake up suddenly, sometimes your body is still in that paralyzed state and you are not quite asleep nor quite awake.

When this happened to me the other night, I had become aware of this and was able to pull myself out of the paralysis quickly and safely without any panic. This was my first success with this, so I do not know how I was able to do this.

There are others of us who have come to find that this state commonly reffered to as dream paralysis is actually the precurrsor to an out of body experience...in essence the soul is able to leave the body. Since you (the soul) ae used to manipulating the body at will, it is quite distressful to discover that there is a disconnect. Those who are aware of the fact that they are in what is reffered to as the astral body simply relax and then MOVE AWAy from the physical body. What follows is the beginning of OUT OF BODY explorations.

Western science has yet to fully grasp the significance of these explorations because they ar e difficult to induce. As such they are what we reffer to as "subjective experiences."

However the dream explorer, may with time discover that these explorations are in fact real...

These validations are a personal process however and it is useless to try to convince others of these experiences unless they to are already having them and struggling with the reality that this new experience brings.

That makes sense also. I am really interested in astral projections and OBE's. I do know that I have experienced these while asleep, usually I wake up the next morning totally exhausted and felt like I did not get any sleep at all. I do quite often jerk alot when I am sleeping because I become aware of my soul leaving my body and abruptly pull it back.

This totally fascinates me, so ususally to become successful of this OBE, I have to be extremely exhausted for this experience to become successful.

I am the type of person who feels like I need total control of my surroundings before I can experience such experiences (if this makes any sense).

What about you? Can you make this happen on your own? I would really like to talk more of this. I even have a hard time meditating, but it gets a little easier each time I do this. I want to try someone guiding me through these, but there again I don't trust anyone to do this.

Thank you for responding to my experience. Hope to talk with you again.

I have found that If I actually need to project, I do. My focus is on tightening up my life. Astral projection is simply another tool in service of the life force. It is the INTENT of my current FOCUS that determines NEED. My focus is to deal with life, and develope tasks that are practical in this. Then everything unfolds naturally. Astral projection is either useful or a distraction. I feel that the first task is to take care of life. Then as we are engaged in lifes tasks, this ability is useful when it is useful. However, having said that, i am now working on trance work to reenter past experiences to reclaum the awareness that may have gotten stuck on certan issues. If you are familiar with Carlos Castenada, then you are familiar with the practice of recapitulation. My INTENT is to use trance work as a tool to "clean house." Meditation is a good path to lucidity...but then what??? If you study Robert Monroes books (see my book reveiw) you will see that once he became an experienced dreamer (astral traveler that is) he used this ability to recollect himself....Well in essence I feel that the soul evoloution takes priority over all other tasks, and I utilize all tools in service of this goal. Develope a practice and stick with it..I am here to talk with, and I am committed to this work, so if you choose to ACT...I will be here. ......7
