Oh How Dumb Scrooge McDuck

Rating
Sunday, April 3 2016

Morning of April 3, 2016. Sunday.        I am present in the three-dimensional setting but somehow do not perceive it as relating to a cartoon or cartoon characters, at least not viably. Scrooge McDuck has a large new airplane. Huey, Dewey, and Louie are present and look on at him in puzzlement regarding his "car repair" activities. It is in the basement of one of his mansions, apparently (though logically, what would an airplane be doing

They’re After Baby Huey

Thursday, April 4 1996

Afternoon of April 4, 1996. Thursday.        This turned out to be an odd combination of the otherwise very common "return flight" type, subtype "failed flight", for the waking transition (though both bird and airplane symbols are integrated in this one). It also uses the bomb metaphor as the waking trigger (which is sometimes linked to a hypnopompic event though not in this case). Bombs sometimes are triggered by or linked to a

The "Frame-up" (with Huey, Dewey, and Louie)

Rating
Sunday, July 17 1977

Morning of July 17, 1977. Sunday.        Disney's cartoon ducks Huey, Dewey, and Louie are all on one unicycle. Each one is on the shoulders of the previous. The duck sitting on the actual unicycle and steering it ends up going off the road after going over a bridge, and landing in the river. The other two blame him.        "This is not my fault," he says. "It's a frame-up!"

The Smell (with Emil Eagle)

Monday, September 15 1969

Morning of September 15, 1969. Monday.        As I ride the crowded school bus in the early morning, heading south down Highway Seventeen, I am soon aware that I am actually on a rocket going to the moon where my school is (though the inside of the school bus looks as it does in real life). My school is the same building, only now on the moon’s surface. I feel a slight sensation at times of the bus rising in the air. (In real life during this

Woody Woodpecker in Peril

Lucid Intent

Sunday, July 5 1964

Night of July 5, 1964. Sunday.        One of the first vivid and somewhat lucid nightmares I remembered with more clarity as a young child is this one from age three. Woody Woodpecker is driving a car (which is rendered in my dream as a real car, that is, not like a cartoon), which seems like my brother-in-law Verdell's car. Knothead and Splinter are also in the front seat. He accidentally drives off a very steep embankment (which is likely mod
