Reading a Crime Novel on an Airplane

Rating
Sunday, August 16 2015

Morning of August 16, 2015. Sunday.        Rewritten for clarification and supplemented Friday, 25 August 2017.        In the first part of my dream, I read at least halfway through a paperback crime novel (possibly by Erle Stanley Gardner, though this is not certain). I retain much of what I read for a few minutes after each page, enough to get a general idea of what the story is about, but I eventually forget most of it. It co

Strange Book Sale Upstairs in a Cathedral-like Building

Sunday, March 29 2015

Morning of March 29, 2015. Sunday.        I am walking up a very long and steep flight of stairs (both by my choice and my seeming simultaneous creation of it by way of subliminal lucidity). Others, including a wealthy old lady, are ahead of me. This flight of steps is so steep and high, I get a strong impression that I will not be able to go down them comfortably. Monday, June 18 2007

Morning of June 18, 2007. Monday.        This dream lasted too long in my opinion, and I read so much (in my dream) that I felt tired much of the day, especially as I seemingly read through 74 pages and nothing happened of any real interest.         In my dream, I am back at the King Street boarding house in Wisconsin. A very heavyset red-haired friend (from Louisiana) and coworker is there and he loans a book to me and says

"The Elite Kingdom"

Rating
Sunday, August 19 1973

Morning of August 19, 1973. Sunday.        I look over the edge of my bed and see a book called “The Elite Kingdom” by Jaylene DeKish. It is a novel (possibly nonfiction) about hairless rats taking the place of people. At the time, I had never heard the name Jaylene and there are no people named “DeKish” as far as I know. There were Google matches for “De Kish”.         There are eerie sc

Wednesday, December 20 1972

Night of December 20, 1972. Wednesday.        I am looking at a (supposedly) new copy of "Jonathan Livingston Seagull", which I got for my birthday. Looking through it, all there are is mostly blank pages, though there are a number of two-page spreads filled with an image (which takes up about seventy-five percent of each two-page spread) of horizontal lines. vertical lines, diagonal lines, and at least one image of equidistant (uniform r
