Vincent. The bullet

Rating
Thursday, August 17 2017

I was running all the time, don’t know whether it was ‘running from’ or ‘running to’, people were trying to trip me, stop me. I was getting locked up a few times, but escaped every time jumping out of the window. From my gran’s house I climbed out of the ground floor window and ran southwards. It was a cold cloudy day, but not winter, maybe late spring. Then I ran into the cemetery and some people chased me upstairs in the bell tower of a new wooden church

Post-apocalyptic broadcast

1. Post-apocalyptic setting – a huge city of mostly crumbling or burned out tower blocks, overcast gray sky, no green anywhere. For some unspecified reason, it is impossible to travel by land and the few remaining survivors are trapped in the top levels of the tower blocks that have survived destruction. I’ve made my home in what looks like a publisher’s office, at least I know that I while away the days by reading, feeling calm and unhurried. I also listen to the messag

Dance through the memory palace

Rating
Sunday, April 23 2017

A mostly light and airy dream inside my memory palace. I am dancing through the halls of it, a dance like modern ballet, in motion all the time.   The walls of the first hall are covered with a relief of white porcelain flowers to jog my memory with the story of how the flowers got their colours. A blue-haired girl dressed in a white top and capris dances with me through the names of the colours in all the languages I use.   The next room is smaller and the walls are

Eternity in Hell over a potato?!

2. Summer, a dusty backyard surrounded by a chain link fence. In the middle of the yard is a rusted old bathtub. Around forty big black-and-white birds and some twenty young women surround it. They look angry and exhausted; the general atmosphere is of doom and apprehension like something gory and violent is about to happen. A young blonde woman is sitting on the side of the bathtub holding a small axe. She suddenly stands up, the crowd parts before her; she marches to the fence th

Knitter/detective and the desert flood orchestra

Rating
Thursday, March 2 2017

  1. I work in a surreal sort of plant as a knitter, one among many. The rest aren’t happy with their work conditions and go on a strike; however, I take pride in my work and sit high atop a tangle of silver steel pipes outside, knitting with green wool while the others are shouting and protesting on the lawn below. The pipes are cold, although the day is sunny and it is summer.     2. An unfamiliar young woman has a bullet hole in her coccyx. I am her friend and

To Purgatory and back

Rating
Saturday, February 11 2017

Summer, Hometown. I was visiting Maria where she was keeping goats off the Uni street; the room looked like the basement nightclub where I used to work. We were having some brightly coloured drinks and discussing whether to go on holiday to Spain or Scotland with our families. Our plans were disrupted when my classmate (unfamiliar) was murdered. I attended her funeral and, seeing that it’s held in the Catholic church, felt extremely frustrated that no one kne
