Vincent's rooms

04.08 The dream was long, but fractured, I don’t remember it all. The first scene was of Vincent standing on the roof of a white car in a traffic jam, addressing the people climbing out of their cars to look at him, but I can’t say whether he was singing or shouting at them gleefully as the sound gets tricky in the Deep. The end of the dream was me literally pushing the walls of my Dreamworld to extend it and make space for him. Inside the walls there were dark dusty spaces tha

Amber and Nightshade

I lied to my family and told them I’m going on a date with my boyfriend, but instead I went to the cemetery to work on a scientific paper in mineralogy on the properties of Baltic amber. The cemetery was stunning in the silence of the clear autumn afternoon and the variety of colours of the autumn leaves. I sat on a bench reading a book that mostly had charts and diagrams, waiting for my scientific advisor. He soon arrived and when I told him about my lie, he flirtatiously said it does

Learning Dutch

I’m in the Summerhouse with Kiddo, we’re getting ready for a fancy-dress party in school. We have same costumes – long silk skirt (mine is teal and hers is red), black corset top and white fluffy capelet. We’re in a hurry, but miss the train to town anyway, and decide to go on foot. It’s a cloudy day in late spring and the going is easy. I enjoy the feel of silk swishing against my legs. Instead of 3-4 hours the walk takes only about ten minutes. We’re on

Fluffies

I’m in a little seaside town that I think is Walton-on-the-Naze. I’m slowly making my way through a crowded, tobacco smoke filled hall, looking for someplace to sit down, but can’t find any. The overall atmosphere is one of nervous expectation. I hear someone say that George Ezra is here; I pay it little attention, but catch a glimpse of him over the crowd when I’m making my way out through the dark corridors. Then it’s some weeks later and I get a chance to mee

Prisoners of war

1. Night, muddy field illuminated by torches. I work for a charity that helps find ways to release the prisoners of war. I’m putting together little parcels to be sent to the sponsors – these consist of red necklaces, seashells, books and booklets with information. The necklaces are made of garnet, I have to dig these out of the mud and wash them in a basin that stands on a long wide table right on the muddy field. I feel ill, doubled over with stomach ache and wait for someone t

Gypsy dance

2. I’m in a huge hall with desks with dusty old computers along the walls and empty space in the middle. The computers work too slowly to download anything, but it’s possible to buy music on USB drives. I read about some books I’d like to read and listen to some music until I’m overcome with the desire to dance. I get up, sing the faster part of ‘Djelem, djelem’ and dance to it. I’m dressed as usual – long skirt, blouse and a cotton shawl, so m

Alien food factory

Rating
Monday, June 5 2017

Earth had been invaded by aliens who were after our food. We were enslaved to work in food production for them. Lucky for humans, their jaws were too weak and they couldn’t eat meat or they would’ve eaten us. The aliens looked like eight feet tall skinned and partially gutted upright-walking lizards; they were creepy, but I mostly felt sorry for them as one explained to me that theirs is a highly capitalist political structure where everything is for sale, body parts included and tha

Art vs hive mind

? Night-time, vast flat field. I was sitting on the grass with various craft materials strewn around me, trying to figure out how to weaponize Chinese lanterns. I made a few round lanterns out of embroidery hoops and white silk. The scene was illuminated by burning torches stuck in the ground in a wide circle around me and I picked one of those up to light my lanterns. They ascended about 30 feet and burned up completely. Then I made two square lanterns out of painters’ canvas on

There was a portal under a bridge that connected Capital to Kazakhstan. I travelled it three times with Laura. The first trip I don’t remember that well, but it had something to do with Dwayne Johnson eating pancakes. The second time we went looking for a wedding dress for Laura and in a little boutique bought a long pearly-pink silk dress that she liked. The third time we stayed in a two-storey hotel in a room with two beds and no other furniture. I went to sleep, but when I awoke, th

See?

I was travelling the Apiary side of Hometown, looking for a missing girl. I knew nothing of her, except that she was missing. While travelling on buses and staying in a hotel by the lake, I saw three random people reading Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. Then there was a tiger hiding in the tool shed behind the hotel and eating the piglets, which could not be allowed to continue. The shed and pigsty were located in a small backyard and the only way to get there was down a long flight of
