Post-apocalyptic broadcast

Rating

1. Post-apocalyptic setting – a huge city of mostly crumbling or burned out tower blocks, overcast gray sky, no green anywhere. For some unspecified reason, it is impossible to travel by land and the few remaining survivors are trapped in the top levels of the tower blocks that have survived destruction. I’ve made my home in what looks like a publisher’s office, at least I know that I while away the days by reading, feeling calm and unhurried. I also listen to the messag

2. I was in a girl gang with Ivy and some fifteen other, unfamiliar girls. Ivy looked more like Megan Fox, but still was her own unmistakeable self. It was a cold winter day. The lot of us were walking along the train tracks that ran in a deep ravine on our right. We reached a place where Ivy had a secret drug cache; she removed a small bag of dried toadstools and put it in the pocket of her red fur coat. There was a zipline going all the way down over the train tracks to a wire fence on the

Mizu-something

There was a portal under a bridge that connected Capital to Kazakhstan. I travelled it three times with Laura. The first trip I don’t remember that well, but it had something to do with Dwayne Johnson eating pancakes. The second time we went looking for a wedding dress for Laura and in a little boutique bought a long pearly-pink silk dress that she liked. The third time we stayed in a two-storey hotel in a room with two beds and no other furniture. I went to sleep, but when I awoke, th

Inverted World

Rating
Friday, May 12 2017

Two of my favourite YouTubers (Kreosan and Temnaya Faza) were exploring the Inverted World of the sort that Christopher Priest described – infinite planet in a finite universe. They were going into the Past, joking and laughing the whole way, unaware of the danger. In the evening, they settled for the night in the ruins of a gothic church. I observed their travels as a disembodied presence and noticed Kelly (Misfits) following them, intending to protect them. She was hiding in the shad

Feeding tapirs

Rating
Thursday, May 11 2017

Twilight. Lee and I are in an unknown outdoor location, seemingly under a bridge, but there is no river. There is, however, an enclosure made of rough uneven boards that holds two cow-sized tapirs. They’re both brown with white spots. There’s also a huge pallet box full of lettuce and we feed whole heads of lettuce to the tapirs. Lee and I keep glancing at each other seductively and about halfway through the feeding have to stop to kiss. I touch him teasingly through the clot

  2. I’m travelling a maze of gray concrete tunnels, bridges and stairs, and stationary trains with Mila and Daniel. The surroundings are light and there is no sense of urgency or stress; we walk and climb chatting and laughing. However, all doors are too small for me and on numerous occasions I have to improvise to keep up with my friends. One such door is a very narrow oval metal frame only five feet high. On both sides it’s flanked by low glass borders that Daniel and I ju

Gravity-defying river

Rating
Thursday, April 6 2017

Durham, a cool and cloudy summer day. I walk along a quiet wide river just outside the city. Another river branches off it and I follow it. It’s very fast and goes uphill through the city, instead of the main street. There are houses and wide stairs on both sides of it and people go about their daily business without paying much attention to the foaming raging river defying the laws of gravity so blatantly. The climb goes on for about half a mile and at the top of the hill the rive

  1. London, sunny early autumn day. The Millennium Bridge is lengthways in Thames and I am taking a stroll along it with my fiancé – an unfamiliar bodybuilder in a bowler hat. He doesn’t have a shirt on and I give him a hug to keep him warm, although he says he’s not cold. I joke that with him dressing like that we’d have to have a circus themed wedding. I don’t like how he looks in the dream, but I recognise and feel intense love towards his persona

Runaway bride

Rating
Monday, February 13 2017

The whole dream was a Danny Boyle’s movie or rather the story that inspired it. It started with a wedding. I saw ‘myself’ in a mirror – a young, short, fragile-looking blonde quite like Kirsten Dunst, surrounded by friends, getting dressed for the ceremony. I wore a pink lace chemise and a very tight simple white silk wedding dress over it. Instead of the veil I had a white hat with pink flowers. I went to sit next to my fiancé at a long table in a rather dark

Bloodsoaked

  1. I lived in a crammed room with my mother and brother. Our ages were off – I was 19 and he was 10. The room was light and clean, but stuffed to the ceiling with various objects, leaving just a narrow U-shaped path. My corner behind the wardrobe was mostly filled with books and boxes. I sat there with my laptop, studying Finnish. I knew I had a girlfriend in the dream and mother was happy that I pose no competition for the affections of potential step-fathers. My brother got a w
