Alex. The date

2. In this dream the Hub was more complex, like a staircase with numbered levels and corridors with doors, supposedly each leading to a different location. I was working in a hotel restaurant kitchen and lived in a flat in what seemed the same building, although later it turned out that the whole structure is the Hub. Kiddo lived there with me, not sure what she was doing when I was at work. One day I was really tired from carrying heavy pots and generally from the that noise and busy atmosph

1. Christmas, an unfamiliar flat where I live with Laura and two unfamiliar girls (maybe Kazakh or Tatar, but they speak Russian). We exchange presents; I give Laura a pack of ribbons and she presents me with a game similar to twister, but here you have to step on small coloured balloons to pop them. Happy and tired I go to sleep. I’m alone in my room, but just as I’m falling asleep, Laura opens the door and shows an uninvited guest in, asking if he can spend the night here. I tak

5. Hometown, early autumn. I’m walking around the town centre feeling happy and playful. I’m wearing the long black coat that I made when I was 19. Actually, I feel distinctly 19. I notice Ricardo at quite a distance and make up a game in my mind where I’ll run into him as if by accident, pretend not to know him and make his acquaintance again. It turns into quite a chase down the whole length of the High street. I run, laughing and cannot tell whether he has noticed me and

In the centre of the dream is the Hub that looks like an ordinary corridor in a hotel or an office building, except that the doors lead to different locations. Behind one of the doors is a sanatorium room where I’m spending my vacation. It looks like an ordinary hotel room and there is a pine forest visible from the window. First I go into the Hub and through a door that leads to a huge garden under a dome. The garden is situated on a steep cone-shaped hill, about 200 fee

  1. London, sunny early autumn day. The Millennium Bridge is lengthways in Thames and I am taking a stroll along it with my fiancé – an unfamiliar bodybuilder in a bowler hat. He doesn’t have a shirt on and I give him a hug to keep him warm, although he says he’s not cold. I joke that with him dressing like that we’d have to have a circus themed wedding. I don’t like how he looks in the dream, but I recognise and feel intense love towards his persona

  1. I work in a surreal sort of plant as a knitter, one among many. The rest aren’t happy with their work conditions and go on a strike; however, I take pride in my work and sit high atop a tangle of silver steel pipes outside, knitting with green wool while the others are shouting and protesting on the lawn below. The pipes are cold, although the day is sunny and it is summer.     2. An unfamiliar young woman has a bullet hole in her coccyx. I am her friend and

1. I lived in an unfamiliar nondescript flat and had neighbours Florence and Florian who were barricading my door with rubbish bags, practically building a wall out of them. I tricked them into removing the bags, although the details of this are fuzzy. I got out and went for a walk in a garden with my mother. It was late summer evening and the garden was exquisite – with small ponds, flowers and trees strung with string lights. Mother told me that she had cooked a piece of honey soap,

1. Hometown near my old primary school, cloudy summer day. I’m on a ski lift 20 feet up, slowly moving westwards, with a clowder of cats in the street below me. I look in amusement as they jump to get me, knowing that it is impossible, when a gray cat almost reaches me. When he fails, a ginger-and-white cat takes his place and actually touches my foot, but I shake him off. 2. I board a train after some demon hunting. There are still wisps of smoke around me from the heat of hell and

  1. I lived in a crammed room with my mother and brother. Our ages were off – I was 19 and he was 10. The room was light and clean, but stuffed to the ceiling with various objects, leaving just a narrow U-shaped path. My corner behind the wardrobe was mostly filled with books and boxes. I sat there with my laptop, studying Finnish. I knew I had a girlfriend in the dream and mother was happy that I pose no competition for the affections of potential step-fathers. My brother got a w

The abandoned cat

Rating
Saturday, January 21 2017

I found a stray ginger cat near the Chemists' House. There was an archive inside and I looked up a card that said that it's Peter's cat. I also found his ex-girlfriend who confirmed this, but said she didn't want to keep it. So I sat on the bench outside the Chemists' House holding the cat, thinking that it had been 15 years since Peter died and that the cat had been alone and neglected for so long; it made me sad. The cat was obviously old, hungry, half-blind a
