Airship crash and butchering gig

Rating
Saturday, March 25 2017

1. A sunny day on a shore where a vast desert meets the sea. An airship has been caught in a strong wind and is rapidly losing altitude. The balloon is squashed in a concave semi-circular shape, and the craft is going steeply downwards and is obviously going to crash. Jacques Paganel is the only person aboard; he isn’t panicking, just looking at the approaching ground with grim determination. I observe it as a disembodied presence flying/falling besides the airship.

Harp march, cooking jam and a bit of time travel

Rating
Thursday, March 9 2017

  1. Sunny summer day, unfamiliar dusty road. I’m on a bus with my mother; we both fall asleep. When I wake up, she can barely breathe because of a heart condition. The bus driver says he does not need any problems and kicks us off. I know I have to keep her awake and moving or she’d die. I have a harp strapped across my chest and play an upbeat tune for us to march to. In the dream I realise that I cannot play the harp, but no matter now I touch the strings, it sounds okay.

Song and the singer's shawl

Rating
Saturday, March 4 2017

1. I’m chatting online with an unfamiliar man and he sends me his daughter’s favourite music video, which he describes as ‘Korol i Shut’ with accordion instead of the violin. The music is awesome, the singer is a young blonde woman. She wears an embroidered semi-circular beige shawl that I zoom in on. It has a scalloped edge and the embroidery is of willow branches and roses.    The song faded from memory when I woke up; however, I have a feeling that it r

Seaside, ships, submarines and the talented dog

Rating
Friday, March 3 2017

  7. We’re in a seaside town (Southend?) with Kiddo. We are slowpokes and only get to go to the beach in the late evening when it’s getting dark. We walk down the wide street that leads down to the sea; there are casinos and arcades on both sides. Through the open door I peek into one and see a game where you have to guess the pitch; a big yellow dog sits in front of it and howls along the “Flower Duet” from Lakmé. The dog is winning and coins drop into the

Knitter/detective and the desert flood orchestra

Rating
Thursday, March 2 2017

  1. I work in a surreal sort of plant as a knitter, one among many. The rest aren’t happy with their work conditions and go on a strike; however, I take pride in my work and sit high atop a tangle of silver steel pipes outside, knitting with green wool while the others are shouting and protesting on the lawn below. The pipes are cold, although the day is sunny and it is summer.     2. An unfamiliar young woman has a bullet hole in her coccyx. I am her friend and

Mail-lady and the aspiring dancer + lots more

Rating
Sunday, February 26 2017

1. A photoshoot in a light studio with high ceiling. I’m dressed in a white regency dress and long gloves, and am held by a tall person in black morphsuit and cloak. The photographer (an unfamiliar young girl) explains that she’s going to photoshop it to look like Mary Shelley is embracing her shadow. In the dream it makes sense.   2. There are aliens aboard Destiny. The dream never shows them, but Eli records their voices through the wall and plays the recording for Chloe

Garden party, tribunal and bookstore

Rating
Wednesday, February 22 2017

1. I lived in an unfamiliar nondescript flat and had neighbours Florence and Florian who were barricading my door with rubbish bags, practically building a wall out of them. I tricked them into removing the bags, although the details of this are fuzzy. I got out and went for a walk in a garden with my mother. It was late summer evening and the garden was exquisite – with small ponds, flowers and trees strung with string lights. Mother told me that she had cooked a piece of honey soap,

Lost in translation; also cars and ballet

Rating
Saturday, February 18 2017

1. A black car is sliding sideways on parallel ziplines; it’s attached by the wheels, upside down. I am guiding it along with one hand and, although I can barely reach it, it slides easily. It’s a sunny summer say and we’re in a quiet town, but as I keep most of my attention on the car, I don’t notice much else. A green car is in my way, but I march right over its bonnet. For a moment I see myself from the point of view of the green car’s owner who has heard the

Water-tower band

Rating
Sunday, February 5 2017

I was in a band with two guys and two girls, all unfamiliar. We lived and rehearsed in a water-tower that stood by a dirt road in the middle of a strawberry field. There were some cypress trees around the tower. Inside it was dusty and dark, with tiny little windows and exposed black wooden rafters. The trapdoor to the top floor was so narrow that I thought that either me or the taller guy who was the lead singer would get stuck there, but it was fine, we squeezed through. The tower belonged

Normal vampire family (Alternating POV)

Rating
Friday, December 23 2016

A girl of about eighteen was hidden in a remote house by her vampire lover; she had a live-in doctor looking after her. The point of view (POV) was alternating between these three characters.  The middle-aged male doctor: The vampire is quite condescending while the girl isn't nearly as dim as he thinks. They live in a remote mansion in snowy countryside, with windows boarded over to make it look abandoned. However, somebody finds out that it is inhabited and we have to leave eve
