(There was some pre-history of me working in a field with various men, including twin Ruuds, but I don’t remember it that well.) 1. I’m walking towards the school and am just turning the corner to Crest road when I run into the most handsome man who’s walking the same way with his grandparents. His grandmother seems to think we’re acquainted and takes his grandfather by the hand and quickens the pace to give us some privacy to talk. We do so, reluctantly and awkwardly

Matchmaking FAQ list

1. I met Sergei on a train and we chatted all friendly for a long while. Then we were on a roof of an unspecified building and I gave him a hug goodbye. I already turned to go when he called me back and showed me a list of FAQs that he could be asked if someone considered marrying him. I read through it with some interest, thinking it’s a smart joke. The list was in English, describing that he’ll eat whatever is given to him and that he is a light sleeper. At the end was a sentence i

? Night-time, vast flat field. I was sitting on the grass with various craft materials strewn around me, trying to figure out how to weaponize Chinese lanterns. I made a few round lanterns out of embroidery hoops and white silk. The scene was illuminated by burning torches stuck in the ground in a wide circle around me and I picked one of those up to light my lanterns. They ascended about 30 feet and burned up completely. Then I made two square lanterns out of painters’ canvas on

There was a portal under a bridge that connected Capital to Kazakhstan. I travelled it three times with Laura. The first trip I don’t remember that well, but it had something to do with Dwayne Johnson eating pancakes. The second time we went looking for a wedding dress for Laura and in a little boutique bought a long pearly-pink silk dress that she liked. The third time we stayed in a two-storey hotel in a room with two beds and no other furniture. I went to sleep, but when I awoke, th

I was travelling the Apiary side of Hometown, looking for a missing girl. I knew nothing of her, except that she was missing. While travelling on buses and staying in a hotel by the lake, I saw three random people reading Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. Then there was a tiger hiding in the tool shed behind the hotel and eating the piglets, which could not be allowed to continue. The shed and pigsty were located in a small backyard and the only way to get there was down a long flight of

1. Christmas, an unfamiliar flat where I live with Laura and two unfamiliar girls (maybe Kazakh or Tatar, but they speak Russian). We exchange presents; I give Laura a pack of ribbons and she presents me with a game similar to twister, but here you have to step on small coloured balloons to pop them. Happy and tired I go to sleep. I’m alone in my room, but just as I’m falling asleep, Laura opens the door and shows an uninvited guest in, asking if he can spend the night here. I tak

I had sneaked in a choir rehearsal with Kiddo. She was chatting to the conductor (Yuri Temirkanov?) while I sat quietly, knitting with dusky pink mohair. The girl next to me was talking to her brother and, as soon as I paid some attention to them, my mind rapidly filled with the images and facts about their lives. They had lived their whole lives in Japan with their Japanese mother, but their Estonian father had recently died and left them a peculiar garden – a wide flower bed li

Private secretary to another dreamer

2. Seoul, an office in one of the upper floors of a skyscraper, late evening. I work as a private secretary to a young Chinese guy (Goodwin) who has made his fortune in an unspecified TV show. It’s a slack sort of job as mostly I’m just organising his diary and managing his many travels. This evening he comes in saying he fancies some Georgian food and asks me to organise a flight to Batumi asap. I know that his girlfriend (an unspecified leggy model type) is reluctant to travel and

  1. London, sunny early autumn day. The Millennium Bridge is lengthways in Thames and I am taking a stroll along it with my fiancé – an unfamiliar bodybuilder in a bowler hat. He doesn’t have a shirt on and I give him a hug to keep him warm, although he says he’s not cold. I joke that with him dressing like that we’d have to have a circus themed wedding. I don’t like how he looks in the dream, but I recognise and feel intense love towards his persona

1. I lived in an unfamiliar nondescript flat and had neighbours Florence and Florian who were barricading my door with rubbish bags, practically building a wall out of them. I tricked them into removing the bags, although the details of this are fuzzy. I got out and went for a walk in a garden with my mother. It was late summer evening and the garden was exquisite – with small ponds, flowers and trees strung with string lights. Mother told me that she had cooked a piece of honey soap,
