Flowers and bumblebee

1. Apocalyptica had magic in their music, different powers to each of them. I don't remember the first two, but Paavo could grow flowers with the sound of his cello. There was some life-and-death situation where he had to send a message to someone. He played a simple tune, like a lullaby, and I saw a tree stump in a forest clearing grow an intricate pattern of gray lichen, sort of a starfish shape, and then the whole clearing suddenly filled with purple bell-shaped flowers.

Stone angel and dirty money

Rating
Monday, August 14 2017

I had gone to Capital to buy a seven feet tall white stone statue of an angel, it felt like the most important thing in my life. However, I had all my money stolen while standing in a church yard admiring it. The rest of the dream was me looking for the money - I found one wad that a cleaner had stolen and hidden in a tiled bathroom, in a bucket of dirty water. It was disgusting to reach into it, but I did it. Turning around I saw a little African girl in a yellow dress who handed me another

Amber and Nightshade

I lied to my family and told them I’m going on a date with my boyfriend, but instead I went to the cemetery to work on a scientific paper in mineralogy on the properties of Baltic amber. The cemetery was stunning in the silence of the clear autumn afternoon and the variety of colours of the autumn leaves. I sat on a bench reading a book that mostly had charts and diagrams, waiting for my scientific advisor. He soon arrived and when I told him about my lie, he flirtatiously said it does

Gypsy dance

2. I’m in a huge hall with desks with dusty old computers along the walls and empty space in the middle. The computers work too slowly to download anything, but it’s possible to buy music on USB drives. I read about some books I’d like to read and listen to some music until I’m overcome with the desire to dance. I get up, sing the faster part of ‘Djelem, djelem’ and dance to it. I’m dressed as usual – long skirt, blouse and a cotton shawl, so m

Art vs hive mind

? Night-time, vast flat field. I was sitting on the grass with various craft materials strewn around me, trying to figure out how to weaponize Chinese lanterns. I made a few round lanterns out of embroidery hoops and white silk. The scene was illuminated by burning torches stuck in the ground in a wide circle around me and I picked one of those up to light my lanterns. They ascended about 30 feet and burned up completely. Then I made two square lanterns out of painters’ canvas on

There was a portal under a bridge that connected Capital to Kazakhstan. I travelled it three times with Laura. The first trip I don’t remember that well, but it had something to do with Dwayne Johnson eating pancakes. The second time we went looking for a wedding dress for Laura and in a little boutique bought a long pearly-pink silk dress that she liked. The third time we stayed in a two-storey hotel in a room with two beds and no other furniture. I went to sleep, but when I awoke, th

   3. Unfamiliar setting reminiscent of amusement park, mostly dark. I’ve arrived there as a part of a group, but when the dream starts, I’m sitting alone in what looks like a ski lift that moves through the dark corridors. I decide to go into ‘a carwash for people’ and get my hair washed by a robot there. I dip my fingers into the blue shampoo that reminds me of the medicine in the previous dream, although it’s dark blue and makes my fingers transparen

The war is over!

1. Wartime. Kiddo and I live in one of the houses near our garden on Cogs street. I go to work every day and she stays to play alone. My gran lives about a block away, but she hasn’t visited us yet. Other houses are mostly deserted. One evening I come home carrying a full black backpack; I don’t know what’s inside, but I have a feeling that it’s something really bad. I check that Kiddo has eaten all the food I’ve left for her and discover that there’s s

3. There was some pre-history of a man with an axe breaking into a small space where I was hiding. When he had made a big enough hole, he tried to reach in and at that moment I ripped his head off. It came off easily and felt like it’s made of dense foam as my fingers left deep dents under his ears where I was holding it. Later I had to help his family as I had killed their only breadwinner. They were all Kazakh women living in a small dark log cabin. I stood at the small window looking

1. Christmas, an unfamiliar flat where I live with Laura and two unfamiliar girls (maybe Kazakh or Tatar, but they speak Russian). We exchange presents; I give Laura a pack of ribbons and she presents me with a game similar to twister, but here you have to step on small coloured balloons to pop them. Happy and tired I go to sleep. I’m alone in my room, but just as I’m falling asleep, Laura opens the door and shows an uninvited guest in, asking if he can spend the night here. I tak
