Vincent. Tiptree forest

Rating
Wednesday, August 9 2017

We were outside this time, in Tiptree forest, going for a walk, holding hands. Vincent seemed nervous, looking around as if in fear; I remembered him mentioning agoraphobia and took off my hat and put it on his head to give him an illusion of a roof over his head. There were weird plants with orange berries everywhere and swans in the lake. I was leading him to the edge of the forest, wanting to both sit under the oaks and hug while watching the fields, and also lay him down in the grass and &ls

Vincent's rooms

04.08 The dream was long, but fractured, I don’t remember it all. The first scene was of Vincent standing on the roof of a white car in a traffic jam, addressing the people climbing out of their cars to look at him, but I can’t say whether he was singing or shouting at them gleefully as the sound gets tricky in the Deep. The end of the dream was me literally pushing the walls of my Dreamworld to extend it and make space for him. Inside the walls there were dark dusty spaces tha

I’m in the Summerhouse with Kiddo, we’re getting ready for a fancy-dress party in school. We have same costumes – long silk skirt (mine is teal and hers is red), black corset top and white fluffy capelet. We’re in a hurry, but miss the train to town anyway, and decide to go on foot. It’s a cloudy day in late spring and the going is easy. I enjoy the feel of silk swishing against my legs. Instead of 3-4 hours the walk takes only about ten minutes. We’re on

Post-apocalyptic broadcast

Rating
Saturday, July 15 2017

1. Post-apocalyptic setting – a huge city of mostly crumbling or burned out tower blocks, overcast gray sky, no green anywhere. For some unspecified reason, it is impossible to travel by land and the few remaining survivors are trapped in the top levels of the tower blocks that have survived destruction. I’ve made my home in what looks like a publisher’s office, at least I know that I while away the days by reading, feeling calm and unhurried. I also listen to the messag

Prisoners of war

1. Night, muddy field illuminated by torches. I work for a charity that helps find ways to release the prisoners of war. I’m putting together little parcels to be sent to the sponsors – these consist of red necklaces, seashells, books and booklets with information. The necklaces are made of garnet, I have to dig these out of the mud and wash them in a basin that stands on a long wide table right on the muddy field. I feel ill, doubled over with stomach ache and wait for someone t

I’m meeting Ruud at the airport; the moment the dream starts I’m waiting in an idling taxi. Instead of one I see two of them approaching the car - one sits at the front, next to the driver and puts white headphones on and ignores me. The other whom I know to be the ‘real’ Ruud sits next to me on the backseat, drops his bag on the floor and gives me one-handed hug. He smiles and talks, and doesn’t seem to notice my confusion.

Nun on the run

3. There is a tradition where once a year the most fearsome single man is unleashed upon all the single women to find himself a wife. I have the dream knowledge of this, but don’t remember ever seeing it happen. At the moment the dream starts, I’m in what looks like Genovefa’s living room with the other single women, all dressed in white lace Edwardian dresses. We stand in two long lines eyeing each other warily, waiting in trepidation for the white door to open and for the

Peter and Persephone

  2. Ambiguous setting – it seems to be a late foggy evening, almost night, but everything is clearly visible. I’m going to Peter’s house to talk about some important matter. I walk under a high brick arch, cross the front garden and approach the gray cottage that’s surrounded by a dark fir forest. I know that Peter is on the roof, probably smoking and watching me, although I don’t see him. Another bearded, dark-haired man opens the door and says that Pet

Gypsy dance

2. I’m in a huge hall with desks with dusty old computers along the walls and empty space in the middle. The computers work too slowly to download anything, but it’s possible to buy music on USB drives. I read about some books I’d like to read and listen to some music until I’m overcome with the desire to dance. I get up, sing the faster part of ‘Djelem, djelem’ and dance to it. I’m dressed as usual – long skirt, blouse and a cotton shawl, so m

Hypnotic schizophrenia and repressed memories

Rating
Tuesday, May 30 2017

  3. A schizophrenic mute girl (Nina) of about 20-22 is walking along the autumn embankment by a river, accompanied by her gran and her aunt. They walk slowly, looking at the passing people, when Nina sees another girl who’s sitting on the steps leading to the water and is sketching a maze in her iPad. She stares over the girl’s shoulder and repressed memories come rushing back to her. For the last few years Nina has thought that she used to have a habit of hiding in a cup
