Biking to Los Angeles

Rating
Tuesday, August 1 2017

My former co-worker Matt R. and I were riding bicycles from Phoenix to Los Angeles. We rode along the interstate. There was some traffic, and I was worried I'd get lost, but it was OK. We got to Los Angeles in seemingly no time, even though I knew it took hours. We rode at least overnight. Traffic picked up. I followed the signs to get where we needed to be. Then I was back in Phoenix with my brother. We were inside an old woman's house. I said we had to leave. We were going to tak

I forgot a class assignment; screwdriver for a bike/suitcase

Rating
Monday, May 29 2017

I was on a university campus and headed to a class. I went downstairs to the basement of a building and waited with other students for the door to unlock. We entered the room when it did. I had some kind of bike or suitcase that I was carrying. It was something to travel and/or carry things. I had to undo a screw on it with a device like a crowbar. It had a flat end to unscrew the screw. I unscrewed what I had to and pushed a seat on a pole down into the suitcase. It folded in. I went into th

Riding bikes in Europe

Rating
Thursday, May 4 2017

I was with a group of about 20 people. We were riding bikes and running through a European city. It had narrow cobblestone streets and sidewalks. I was riding a bike that was pushing a cart. But the cart also had a bike attached to it. There was an old man in the cart. We both controlled the brakes. The group passed a BMW on a street, and some of the people knocked on the windows. I did as I passed. The driver got out of his car and chased us. I followed the group up a slight hill and around

My dad on a bike

I was walking on the sidewalk in front of the Bashas' in Kayenta. Tim Vines was in a two-door sports car parked next to the curb. I walked up to him and told him Tom Simpson had died. It was a joke, but he freaked out. He needed to get out of the car immediately but couldn't get the door open. He had a Club (the anti-theft device) and used a tool on the end to shatter a tiny window behind the driver's side door window. I told him to calm down because it was just a joke. He was get

Bike race

Rating
Friday, December 23 2016

I was with a lot of other bicyclists at the beginning of a race. I think it was in Tucson, but the course was unfamiliar. We were crowded at the starting line. I saw an overhead view. It looked too crowded. The race began. I got in front and in a comfortable lead away from the pack. The course wound around up and down some small hills. Either side of it was a roughly 12-foot-tall chain-link fence. I kept note of that because some bottlenecks ahead might be dangerous. I finished the first l

Can't lock my pink bike

Rating
Friday, December 9 2016

I was on a college campus and had a pink bike with me. I had to lock it up before class. I stopped at a rack and looked for my lock but realized I didn't have it. I didn't have a chain or U-lock. I wondered what I could do. Maybe I could use someone else's next to the bike. But that wouldn't work. I walked to another rack. I saw that I had a small padlock on my backpack. It was a luggage lock. I had a string tied to it that I could use as the lock. I looked for the key and fou

Bike becomes SUV; I see a wreck

Rating
Saturday, December 3 2016

I was riding a bike in an unfamiliar city. I was riding behind an older woman also on a bike. I signaled and got in the left lane to turn at an intersection. Before the light changed, the woman rode ahead. She slowed and sped up to make it through traffic. Eventually she made it and rode off. Then I was driving an SUV. My light hadn't changed yet, so I still waited. A pickup drove through the intersection, slammed on its brakes and skidded as it passed. It crashed, but I didn't see wh

I forget my bike lock

Rating
Thursday, December 1 2016

I was driving a bus to a campus. A bicycle was in the aisle. I drove along a narrow one-way street. Some cars were parked in the way, so I had to push them out of the way with the bus. I thought this was OK because they shouldn't be blocking the road. I parked next to a large sidewalk next to a building. I got my bike out and looked for a place to lock it. But I realized I didn't have my lock with me. I had left it at home. I saw a woman at a kiosk that I knew gave out locks. I asked

After work, I ride my bike

Rating
Thursday, November 3 2016

I was finishing my shift at my old job. I had on the public radio station and heard some news, so I forwarded the info to Paul, the reporter who just started his shift. I got up to leave and grabbed my cap. I put it on and noticed it felt bigger. I took it off and realized it wasn't my cap. I grabbed my cap and put it on. Both were University of Arizona, but the other person's was all blue. Mine has a white front. I went outside and hopped on a bicycle. It was the same type of bike I

Riding my bike to water

Rating
Wednesday, October 12 2016

I was riding a bicycle through Phoenix. I rode on Third Street downtown like I was on my way to work, but I kept going to the Salt River. I passed the river and rode into the southern portion of the city. I rode past a market or some kind of outdoor area with a lot of people. A man tried to hit me with an empty gallon bucket (it looked like the gallon of ice cream I buy), but I grabbed it and threw it at his head as I rode past. I had to slow down a bit and weave around people as they crowded
