Linda is promoted; I hold a cabinet shut

Rating
Monday, January 2 2017

I was either in Denver or seeing something in Denver on Facebook. My former co-worker Linda had just been promoted to editor-in-chief. The building had a big LED sign on the side of it that congratulated her. It looked like an old neon sign. They changed "The Denver Post" to "The Linda Post," which I thought was clever. Then I was inside a classroom. I was sitting in the back. Linda was at the front, either as the instructor or a guest speaker. A cabinet behind me was full

Stopping in Denver

Rating
Friday, July 4 2014

I was on a bus with a group of people. It was a tour bus or a Greyhound. We were traveling a long distance. We had just finished a tour of the country and were heading back to the West. Ahead of us I recognized Denver's skyline. I was excited to be stopping in one of my favorite cities. We arrived at a suburb and pulled in to a parking lot. The lot was small, and the bus had to do some maneuvering to make it into the lot. It stopped, and I got out. There was a small pickup truck in the lot. It

I visit The Denver Post

Rating
Tuesday, August 30 2011

I was in downtown Denver when I saw a man who looked familiar. He looked like Joe, one of my former supervisors at The Denver Post. Some people were taking a picture of him because they said he looked like someone from TV. Turns out it was Joe, and he also was from TV. He was in commercials for the newspaper. I walked up and said hi, and he invited me in to meet everyone. Four other people walked in behind us, but they didn't work there. Joe used his badge to get around a barrier, and he left t

I can't find the newspaper office

I was in the old Denver Post building and got in an elevator to get to the office. I wanted to see my old friends. I didn't remember what floor the offices were on, so I pushed 72. This elevator was an express elevator. It only stopped on the ground floor, 13 and 72. I got off at the 72nd floor, which was the roof. A few other people got off too. There were two sets of train tracks there and a station for boarding. For some reason I thought I had gotten on a train and was taken to that roof, ev

Walking around D.C.

Saturday, August 6 2011

I was walking around Washington, D.C. I was near the Capitol. I knew it was D.C., but it looked like Denver. I passed the Capitol, which was where the old Denver Post building is. I was walking east on Colfax Avenue, but in the dream, I was walking next to the U.S. Capitol in D.C. I wanted to walk to a clothing district. It was a neighborhood in D.C. near the Capitol that had a lot of clothing stores. I had to pass the Capitol and an intersection with five or six streets leading to it. I passed

Lost in Denver

Rating
Saturday, March 19 2011

I was driving in a Denver neighborhood looking for a place to eat. I was lost. I don't know where I was going, but I think I was just passing through Denver to get somewhere else. I parked my car on a street and got out. I didn't see any paint on the curb, and I didn't see any signs saying not to park there. I walked to the building next to where I parked. It was an office complex, and it had a nice restaurant on the corner. I walked up the grass hill and on to the sidewalk next to the building

Denver artist apartments

I was in Denver and looking at a building model. There was a layout of downtown buildings. There were two tall and thin buildings a few blocks apart. One was older, and the other was just built. They were both 14 stories tall. I don't know if someone was saying it, but somehow I knew that there was controversy over the building's location. I walked to a model of a building. It was six stories tall and L-shaped. It looked only narrow enough to have a hallway in the wings. Each floor had one pers

Walk around Denver

I was in Denver and trying to walk toward downtown. I was about a mile away. I saw the skyscrapers, and I figured I could just walk along the road I was on. It wasn't a main road, but I thought it would take me there. Downtown was a little to the northwest, and I was walking directly north. As I walked, the road turned into a dirt road. I was in a farm area. Two kids showed up on the road. One was on a bike, and the other had one of those fake horses with the horse head on a broomstick. They pa

I was driving through downtown Denver on my way to work at The Denver Post. I was on a one-way road and had to turn left, so I tried to get in the left lane. A car drove really quickly into my blind spot and then slowly past me. Once he got by, I got in the lane. I put on my turn signal, but the next intersection was a one-way road the other way. So I turned off my signal and waited at the light. The next intersection was the right direction, but it was tricky because of construction. The left

Bike to Denver

Rating
Wednesday, April 29 2009

I was on my one-hour dinner break from work, and I rode my bike to Denver. From Amarillo. I made it to Denver in about 20 minutes, and I wandered around downtown. As I walked through a park, I saw someone out of the corner of my eye. It was Tim Vines. I stopped and looked at him. He noticed me. We laughed and asked what each other was doing in Denver. He said he and Tara were taking a little vacation with family. I pointed out a bunch of things I recognized. The Republic Plaza, the old Denver P
