A lake freighter sinks the weight room

Rating
Sunday, May 1 2016

I was in a weight room with two unfamiliar men. The room had a window that overlooked the docks in Sandusky. We were apparently above the Jackson Street Pier. One of the men was adding weights to a machine. The weights were blocks of varying weights, from 30 to 105 pounds. He asked for help setting them up. He picked up a large weight (it was maybe 3 feet long) and handed it to the other man. I was worried he'd drop it, but it was plastic and weighed only 30 pounds. He set it on the other

Mom's car floods

Rating
Saturday, January 24 2015

I was leaving Cedar Point with my mom. She was driving her car. I was sitting in the back right seat. We drove on the causeway.    It was raining, and water from the lake was splashing onto the road. We got to a spot where there was a lot of water in the road. Mom drove into it. Water hit the windows and splashed over the hood.    I wondered if we should back up and try later. Mom kept going forward. A car heading toward us went into the water too. The water got h

Strange Disney World and a cat attacks a duck

Rating
Saturday, December 20 2014

I was with some friends at Disney World. We walked in an area of the park that was heavily themed. It had lots of little row houses and a canal. I don't know if it was Amsterdam or Philadelphia, but it somehow reminded me of them. To the left was a roller coaster called Cedar Creek Mine Ride. I knew that wasn't at Disney World but at Cedar Point. I was confused and wondered if it was the same ride. I wondered why Disney would have a ride of the same name. I wanted to walk over to it,

My new job in Ohio

Rating
Wednesday, October 16 2013

My mom was driving my brother and me on Route 6 in northern Ohio. We were driving east. To the left was the coast, and I stared out at it. It was 6 in the morning, but it was bright and sunny. I saw several ships on the lake. They were container ships, freighters and pleasure crafts. We passed by the Huron lighthouse, which made me nostalgic. I saw the nose of the space shuttle and asked what it was doing there. Tim said Ohio was one of the places the shuttles would go because of Ohio's contrib

I have to conjoin a freighter

Monday, January 21 2013

I was swimming in a lake, possibly Lake Erie, and my friend Doug was there. There were three large sections of a freighter ship just floating around. For some reason I took it upon myself to conjoin them. I knew the ship was the Stewart J. Cort, a 1,000-foot freighter. I recalled images of the front and back end conjoined and traveling on the lakes to meet the middle section. I swam toward the middle section, but Doug tried to stop me. He swam underwater and bumped my stomach with his head. He

Lake Erie inlet

Rating
Thursday, November 1 2012

I was at an inlet off Lake Erie with some friends and a crowd of people. The water was really shallow. There was a beach on the end I was on, and there were thick trees surrounding the water and just beyond the beach. The water was really clean and clear. I swam up to the shore and got next to two friends. I moved my hands in the sand a bit to stir it up under the water. I got out and asked them if they had any sunscreen. I felt like I had been in the sun too long and wasn't covered. They had a

Working on the Paul R. Tregurtha

Rating
Wednesday, September 5 2012

I was on the deck of the Paul R. Tregurtha, the largest boat on the Great Lakes. We were heading to Sandusky for either ore or coal. There was an open chute on the deck near me that I assumed was either going to empty the cargo or load the cargo. One of the crew guys made fun of me because I didn't know what the chute was for. We neared the dock, but I didn't recognize it as Sandusky's.

Ships sinking

Rating
Wednesday, August 1 2012

I was walking along either the beach or the boardwalk at Cedar Point at night and looking out on Lake Erie. I think it might have been the boardwalk, but it was much closer to the lake. On the lake I saw a few ships. One was a Great Lakes cruise ship, which was like a normal cruise ship except much smaller. It was rocking forward and backward, and after awhile, it started to sink. A barge passed near it and struck it, and the barge started to sink too. I looked out and thought about taking pic

2 swing rides at Cedar Point

Rating
Saturday, May 19 2012

I was at Cedar Point and getting on a new swing ride. This ride was in Frontiertown and near where Wave Swinger was. I got on and was impressed that the seats were held up with chains. There was some kind of big restraint that came down over riders' heads and positioned in their laps. It wasn't bulky or obnoxious. Then I was near the Oceania entrance, where WindSeeker is. I walked around the side of the station building and looked out on Lake Erie. There were a lot of boats and ships on the lak

Beautiful lakeside setting

Rating
Sunday, March 11 2012

I was in a small town on the shore of Lake Erie. I didn't recognize it, but it had that small-town charm: red brick buildings, light traffic, a breeze off the lake. I stood in the turn lane of an intersection. My co-worker Meghan had given me a cloth bag with her laptop in it. I opened the laptop, but a car drove in to the turn lane. I got out of the way and made angry gestures at the driver, then stood back in the road. I opened her laptop. A website was already up, but I don't know what it wa
