Miss my flight; loud man at a show turns into chocolate

Rating
Saturday, November 26 2016

I was hanging out with Tim in his apartment in Austin. I had to go catch my flight. But there was some kind of a delay, so I had to stay another day. He called his ex-wife and said to prepare for me to stay another day, even though I knew he lived alone. I said I'd have to check to make sure my plane didn't leave. I went to what I thought was the airport but ended up being a performing arts center. I waited in a long line to buy a ticket. I saw my co-worker Maggie standing against a w

Strange opera at an unfinished apartment complex

Rating
Tuesday, January 29 2013

I was in a large courtyard in the middle of a large apartment complex. The apartments were five or six stories tall and were under construction. This courtyard was at least 200 feet wide and longer than that. There were three people behind me, two men and a woman. We were in an opera. This opera was unusual. We spoke a lot of scenes, and we weren't speaking now. The singing scenes were improvised. I was playing a woman, and I imagined I was wearing a long, flowing red dress, but I was wearing n

Our production of 'Rent' fails

Rating
Tuesday, September 18 2012

I was on a stage with some friends and other people, and I was told we were performing "Rent" that evening. I would be playing Roger, and Tim Vines was Mark. I think Anne was there, but I don't know who she was. We started the show with Mark coming out, and the audience clapped. There was an "X" on the stage for him to stand, but there were tons of X's in a grid pattern all over, and I had no idea how anyone knew where to stand. When he started and said, "We begin on Christmas Eve," the audienc

Hanging out with the interns

Rating
Saturday, March 26 2011

I was in my apartment, and my glass door was open. A group of people walked by my patio into the hall. I recognized them as the interns from my training in Austin in 2006. I opened my door, and we spoke in the hall. The people who live across the hall had their door open and were listening to "Les Miserables." One intern started crying because the song was so beautiful. Someone at my door was interested in a big hardcover book I had. The book was about books on language. She was impressed with

I'm in 'Wicked,' apparently

Rating
Friday, February 19 2010

My brother and I were in New York to see the musical "Wicked." The night before, I was either reading or writing a headline for the play, and I wrote "Something 'Wicked' this way comes." I thought that was really cheesy, and I didn't like it. There was a hot dog cart outside the theater. I got a hot dog with mustard, and my brother got some kind of stuffed pita or tortilla. He couldn't pay for it, so I paid with a $10 bill. We could see inside the theater, and previews started showing on a scre

I'm in "Rent"

Rating
Thursday, February 11 2010

I was either in high school or the age I am now, and I had to perform in "Rent." I was playing Roger. They assumed that because I knew the lyrics, I knew the blocking. But I didn't, and I didn't feel right helping with a play I'd only seen once. But everyone wanted me to help.

We have to perform

Rating
Monday, April 14 2008

I was back in my high school musical theater class, and we had to perform "The Wizard of Oz" in a little under an hour. We were performing it in front of a small audience. Mrs. Frisinger was getting angry because none of us was in costume and ready. My mom wanted me to wear a suit, so she put the jacket over my sweatshirt. It was uncomfortable, so she said I should wear a dress shirt under it instead of a T-shirt and the sweatshirt. I tried taking the sweatshirt off, but I couldn't. I

I was at the filming of an episode of "The Sopranos." It was at Universal Studios in California. A woman in the show gets hit by a train and dies, and it outraged fans and the cast. They were so mad, they all ran through the streets that are set up for movies, and they chased after the director. Tim Vines, my brother and I were part of the mob. I thought it would make a good opportunity to break out in song. I asked my brother what the good song from "Urinetown" was. He told

Angel Falls and the song with the horrible ending

Monday, November 26 2007

I was with my Brian, the dog from "Family Guy," and my brother, and we were walking through the jungles of Bolivia. I wanted to find Angel Falls. Somehow we were able to easily walk hundreds of miles in an instant. We walked to the high mesas expecting to see it, but we never did. We got to the top of one of the mesas, and there was a map at the top. It was under glass and had a "you are here" spot on it. The falls were slightly to the east of us. The "you are here" spot was actually a be

Without You

Friday, December 30 2005

I was at home, and I had to perform the song "Without You" from "Rent" in the high school theater. I was standing backstage waiting to go on, but the girl playing Mimi was already on stage. I was supposed to be out there before her, but she was there anyway. There was a short wall in the back of the stage. It was about three feet high and was supposed to hide the people backstage from the audience. As I stood there waiting for my cue, I knew the audience could see me. When my turn came
