Booths in a combination hometown-city

Rating
Friday, September 15 2017

I was in a place that was like a mix between downtown Phoenix and my old intermediate school in Kayenta. I was outside where the playground was and walked to the driveway on the west side. There were booths and tables set up like it was some kind of fair or sale. There was a woman about 30 feet behind me taking pictures and video with her phone. I thought she must work for Downtown Phoenix Inc. For some reason I didn't want to be photographed or seen, so I sped up. I glanced at the tab

Surprise job interview

Rating
Tuesday, August 29 2017

I was in a warehouse or some kind of industrial building. I was on the business side with offices and a receptionist. I don't know why I was there, but it felt important. After being shown around, someone told me to go to another room because they wanted to interview me for a job. The room was not set up for interviews. There were people coming and going like it was at the entrance. I sat at a wooden table that had a CRT TV behind it. A woman and a man were there. The woman asked me a que

Hiding from a gunman

Rating
Sunday, June 12 2016

I was in a parking garage at night. I had a film camera and needed to take a couple of pictures to complete the roll. I snapped some shots of other people in the garage. There was some kind of trouble nearby. I think it was a shooting. I was worried and wanted to get out of the garage. I went to the elevators (I must have been on the third or fourth floor). One of them dinged and opened before I pushed the button. I suspected that was the gunman, so I hid around the corner beside the elevator

People explore a cliff dwelling

Rating
Wednesday, December 16 2015

My brother and I were back on the Rez. We had taken a trip. I saw some cliff dwellings as we drove west back toward where we live now. One was a tall one that actually exists, but there was another one just to the east that was bigger and in a larger alcove. I pulled over to get pictures of them. I saw some people at the larger dwelling. I wondered what they were doing. They walked out of it and ran down the sandstone. I realized they were white tourists and were at a place they shouldn't

Easy basketball game and insults from a spectator

Rating
Saturday, October 3 2015

I was playing basketball with friends in a gym. It was five-on-five. We were doing pretty well. I was playing well too. The other team brought the ball down the court. It was passed to Doug T. I did a good job guarding him. I had my arms out, and he tried to get by me but couldn't. I stole the ball. Another one of my friends was on the other end of the court. I casually tossed the ball, and he grabbed it and made a basket. Everybody clapped for a long time, until the ball was past halfcou

Ruins near Tuba City

Rating
Sunday, August 9 2015

I was driving near Tuba City. I pulled over to get some photos. I was a stop next to the dinosaur tracks. I passed a sign saying the tracks were to my right as I pulled back onto the road.    I passed a Navajo man driving a car. I shouted "hello" in Navajo at him. He pulled over, and I drove to a pullout on the left and got out. I followed him into a mud building.    He said something to me in Navajo, but I said I only knew a few words and phrases. This

The bus leaves without us

Rating
Thursday, February 26 2015

I was in a hotel room with my mom and dad. We were packing suitcases to catch a large tour bus. We apparently had finished a vacation and would be heading home. We had souvenirs. Mine included a book by a Navajo Code Talker. The bus pulled up, and we grabbed our bags. Dad wasn't sick (or he wasn't as sick as he had gotten twoard the end of his life), and he was able to grab a bag and carry it to the bus. We opened the side compartments and put the bags in. Dad and I went back inside t

CNN covers my hometown

Rating
Friday, October 10 2014

I was watching CNN. It was covering a drought and record temperatures in the Southwest. One of the stops it made was in my hometown, Kayenta. Anderson Cooper walked into a low shack a large family was living in. It was 110 degrees outside, and this shack got even hotter because some of the walls and roof were sheet metal. The building had 42 rooms, though they weren't really rooms. They were just different living spaces for family members. The building was only about 8 feet wide. It snaked for

Former co-workers and dad's sick

Sunday, August 17 2014

I was driving to a neighborhood in Kayenta. The entrance of it had a gate. I pulled up to the gate and read a sign that instructed how to open the gate. It said to either enter the code or push "7" on your smartphone. I got my phone out, but the gate opened. I drove in. I took a few turns and drove along a row of tall hedges. It was similar to Palm Beach, but it was in Kayenta. Then I was inside a building similar to the middle school. I walked past some janitors who were cleaning tables. They

Visiting my high school

Rating
Thursday, April 17 2014

I was in my high school. I was the age I am now. I walked to the office and set my camera bag inside, then I walked around the halls.  There weren't too many people there. I saw some students and Mrs. Nash. I said hi to her. I gave myself a tour of the school. I walked to the new enclosed area next to the old gym.  Then the bell rang, and students poured into the halls. I made my way from the courtyard to the office. My camera bag was moved, but I went in and grabbed it. I
