Woman has a gun

Rating
Tuesday, November 29 2016

I was outside a house in a neighborhood that might have been the one I grew up in, though it seemed nicer. An old woman inside a house was angry with me. I was in the driveway. She came out carrying a small revolver. I tried to keep her calm. She approached me. I said I would fight her if necessary to defend myself. She kept coming toward me, so I hit her and pushed her away. I was able to grab the gun. She ran inside. I set the gun down and called 911. The first thing I wanted to say was

In Chicago for an internship

Rating
Tuesday, October 4 2016

I was in western Chicago. I had just moved there for an internship at the Chicago Tribune. My friend Jen from Cedar Point also would be interning. My internship didn't start for a few days. I wanted to start a daily photo project, so I wandered around my neighborhood. A few blocks away was an area I really liked. It had some old buildings and lots of businesses. I waited to cross a street. Four or five preteen boys walked by me with their dog. One of them was trying to get the dog to stay

A kid shoots out my back window

Rating
Wednesday, August 31 2016

I was in an unfamiliar neighborhood. I walked down some steps or a walkway from a house to the street, where my car was parked. A little boy, maybe around 10 years old, walked in front of me. When I got in my car, he walked behind my car. I saw in my rear-view mirror that he pulled out a gun and aimed it at me or my car. I tried to turn the key and hit the gas to get away, but I wasn't fast enough. He fired a shot, and my back window shattered. I sped off. I only drove about four or fi

Pretty neighborhood; I can't find my car

Rating
Friday, August 26 2016

I was driving in a really pretty neighborhood. It looked like it was in the East, not here in Phoenix. There were lots of big trees. The streets were wide. It was hilly, and some houses were on hills above street level. I parked and got out of my car. I was looking to take a photo of the day. I was near a large park and considered shooting that, but I decided to walk around. I walked down some streets. I liked where I was. A thin woman jogged by. I thought it was my friend Hilary at first (th

Searching for Daniel's conspiracy

Rating
Sunday, May 1 2016

I was in Kayenta with some childhood friends (Zack, Blaise, Tim Vines, William and my brother). It was dusk. We were in our neighborhood on Betatakin Street. We knew Daniel was sick, and we wanted to find either a cure or get to the bottom of a conspiracy. Somehow that might make him well again. I had my camera. I saw a military plane fly over. I thought it looked strange. It was black. It flew behind trees, so I couldn't see it clearly. I said it had forward-swept wings. But when it re-e

Meghan and I break in to a house

Rating
Wednesday, July 15 2015

Meghan and I were in what resembled the neighborhood I grew up in. It was night. We approached a large house. We didn't know the owner, but we did know he was a rich older man. We somehow got hold of his keys, so we didn't exactly break in, but we did enter. I was a little nervous that someone would see us. But we turned on lights and walked around the living room, dining room and kitchen. It wasn't too impressive inside. We sat on his couch and watched TV for a little while. T

Getting away from a stoat

Rating
Friday, November 28 2014

I was in my neighborhood in Kayenta. I was walking on the road next to the day care center and the high school. Ahead of me was a white stoat. It was about as big as a medium-size dog. It looked at me and started to approach. I stepped toward it and kept eye contact. As long as I kept eye contact, it didn't move. I turned down Betatakin Street. The stoat started following me. It seemed aggressive, so I didn't want it coming after me. I saw a large bag of chips on the ground. It was un

I must take a picture, but a truck wrecks

Rating
Monday, August 18 2014

I was walking around my neighborhood at night. I turned down a street and saw a great scene. There was a bicycle standing up in the road. A streetlight lit it from behind. I didn't have my camera on me for some reason, so I turned around and jogged for a little bit to get home. A man on a bike closely passed me. Now I was walking instead of jogging, and it was daytime. I walked on the sidewalk on the main road by my apartment. I heard a loud noise behind me and turned around. A gas tanker truck

Detour to a coffee shop

Rating
Tuesday, May 6 2014

I was driving to work, though it was in an unfamiliar neighborhood and to a job that isn't my current job. The road ahead was closed, so I turned left and took the next right. But the right turn was a dead end. I drove on a large, black speed bump and saw the "dead end" sign, so before I drove all the way over the bump, I reversed and drove back. I took the next street. I wanted to take the first right, but I figured that would lead to the closed road. I kept driving. Then I saw a coffee shop a

Bus driver's angry about making a video

Rating
Tuesday, February 11 2014

I was on an empty school bus on the highway in Kayenta. The driver was driving to the new houses by the intermediate school. He was grumbling about the principal, Mr. Baker, and how he gave him busy work. He didn't want to make a video.  He turned in to the district and asked me how to get to the housing. I told him to turn left.  Then I was inside my house. I was talking with some people about the bus driver and his video. I was laying on the floor. A fish "swam" by me in
