Visiting Six Flags Great America

Rating
Thursday, April 13 2017

Tim Vines, Jill and I were at the entrance to Six Flags Great America. We were in line for tickets. Jill had a season pass. I was using my pass to get Tim Vines a discount. I handed the woman my Cedar Fair pass first. I laughed and grabbed the right pass. We went to the entrance, which was closed. A few people were in line. Jill went to a different line because she suspected it would go faster. I went to one with two people in it. The lines were separated with silver handrails. My line wen

Multiple rides on X-Flight

Rating
Sunday, January 8 2017

I was with the Chandlers at Six Flags Great America. We got on X-Flight with no line. We rode once and stayed on since there was no line. We rode it several more times. I kept track of my rides in a notepad. When there was a little bit of a line, we'd go to a different seat that was empty. We kept up the musical chairs for a while. The ride was similar to Thunderbird at Holiday World. It started with a launch instead of a lift hill, but the rest of the layout was like X-Flight's. It e

Goliath at Six Flags with one car

Rating
Friday, November 18 2016

My brother and I were on Goliath at Six Flags Great America. The vehicles were unusual. We sat in a single-file row in one car that wasn't part of a train. He sat behind me. We left the station. There was a slight drop out of the station and a 180-degree turn to the left. The train didn't fit on the track well. The track was sort of like a trough similar to a log flume. The train bumped into the walls (really, the high rails) in the turn. We headed up the lift hill, which was launched

Riding a Superman roller coaster

Rating
Monday, August 3 2015

I was at a Six Flags park. I was in line for a Superman coaster. It was similar to Superman: The Ride at Six Flags America.    I was with Leo from the website I used to work on. We boarded on different parts of the train. He sat in the front and I in the back.    The ride was fun. The long straightaways were kind of dull, but the hills and helices were enjoyable. I especially liked the headchoppers entering and exciting the turns. There were two tunnels that had l

Roller coaster media day

Rating
Monday, May 18 2015

Doug and I were at an amusement park for the media day of a new roller coaster. It was a Rocky Mountain Construction coaster with steel I-beam track and wooden supports. I think it was at a Six Flags park. We just missed being on the first train ever, but we had a chance to get on the second train. We were with a group of about a dozen people. We walked up a long ramp to the station. The trains were short and small. They might have held 12 people. The last three rows already were full, but

Running to ride a roller coaster

Rating
Friday, March 15 2013

I was at an amusement park with Tim Vines, Talaya and some other people from my old youth group. We were running to ride Raptor. Since Tim Vines and I knew where it was, we led the group. But they eventually fell behind. We ran past Raptor and to another coaster. We wanted to ride the new coaster. I figured we'd ride Raptor later, and I shouted to the coaster that I'd be back. We waited for the group to catch up. We got in line for the Superman flying coaster. The line was empty. At first we g

Visiting Six Flags and riding in boats

Rating
Wednesday, September 26 2012

I was at a Six Flags park with some friends, and we were riding New Texas Giant. It wasn't the actual park the coaster was at, though I don't know how I knew that. It just felt like it was a different park. The ride was different. The first drop was about the same, but the rest of it was very different. There was a barrel roll in the ride too. The barrel roll is what confused me. But it was fun. Then we were in a large pool in the park. There were several boats we could drive around. There was

Bad season pass

Rating
Friday, May 20 2011

I was at Six Flags Magic Mountain's entrance with my brother. I was buying a season pass, and he was getting a day ticket. The pass people took my picture, but it didn't come out right. It was completely black, but they printed it anyway. The entrance was open, but they blocked the midway a little beyond that. It was like what Cedar Point does with passhodlers for the one hour of ERT in the morning. There were park police officers at the gates to let passholders through. My brother strolled thr

Tiny coaster at Six Flags

Rating
Friday, February 11 2011

I was riding a tiny wooden roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure. It barely sat above the ground. Most of the rails were just built into the terrain. It had one or two cars. The ride stopped in a small shed halfway through the ride on a high point, and I got my camera out. A maintenance man or ride operator (I don't remember) came over and talked to me. He let me out of the car. I stood in the middle of the track area and took pictures. I turned around and got a picture of Kingda Ka, whic
