People seem to want my camera gear in Austin

Rating
Wednesday, September 6 2017

I was walking in Austin, though the city was much more built up than it is. There were several skyscrapers on the south side of the lake downtown. I crossed the Congress Avenue bridge heading south. I had my phone out and was taking video. I also had my camera bag with only my 5D in it. Some people from my youth (I don't know who exactly, but they were Navajo and familiar) approached me. They asked me about my camera. I was glad I put my telephoto lens and other gear in a locker. The lock

My brother and I visit Circuit of the Americas

Rating
Friday, April 21 2017

My brother and I were at Circuit of the Americas. We were walking the circuit. I needed to stop and charge my phone. I found some outlets and plugged it in. I couldn't get the cable in my phone correctly, and the battery-life percentage kept changing. It was in the 30s, then 50, and it kept bouncing around. I unplugged it and kept walking. Every time I saw an outlet, I plugged it in to see what would happen. We went inside a big white tent. I plugged my phone into an outlet there. My brot

Working for the governor of Texas

Rating
Sunday, February 26 2017

I was working at the Texas Capitol. I worked really close to the governor, who was a woman, not Abbott. There was some kind of shifting of jobs. Some people got laid off. I went into Raeanne's office. I was nervous. In her office were two people who did the same thing I did. We were going over our duties and responsibilities. Raeanne said we don't have to worry. I asked if they were going to keep the woman who worked there (I pointed at a desk). I found her attractive and didn't w

F1 commentary

Rating
Sunday, February 26 2017

I was at an F1 race and walking around the grounds. It must have been Circuit of the Americas, but it wasn't familiar. I was listening to the race on my phone through headphones. I walked by an area with some metal tables set up. A few people were eating on them. I had half an ear of corn and was eating it. I heard the commentators talking about the various foods here, and they talked about someone eating corn. I realized they were talking about me. I looked around for them and spotted

Lost in Waco

Rating
Saturday, June 11 2016

I was driving in Waco at night. I didn't know where I was going, but I knew I had to leave the city. I was on a narrow street and came to a T-intersection. I stopped at the stop sign and waved a semi through. It turned left from the road to my right. I wondered if it had enough room to pass, but it did. Then I wasn't in my car. I was walking and carrying a backpack and a sleeping bag. I don't know where I was walking. I just know I wanted to get out of the neighborhood I was in. I

A new restaurant in Austin

Rating
Sunday, December 7 2014

I was in an alley in Austin. To my right was a brick building with doors in it. The door farthest from me was open. People were coming and going from it. It was going to be a new restaurant, and they were doing prep work. I walked up to it and looked inside. A few feet inside the door stood what looked like coffee makers. They were about 3-foot-tall stainless steel cylinders. They had paper signs on them. One said "404 Waitress Not Found." I thought that was clever and entered to ta

Tim drives erratically

Rating
Friday, March 7 2014

My friend Tim R. was driving me on Interstate 35 in Austin. We were heading from my old apartment to his place in North Austin. I apologized for living so far away, but he said he didn't mind. The road was completely clear, so Tim sped up to 90 mph. We took a sharp turn. There was a gas tanker ahead. It had Shell and Circle K logos on it and took an exit to a Shell station ahead. It was going fast, and the station was close, so I wondered how it would stop in time. But since we were on a curve,

Stopped in Russia

Rating
Monday, September 30 2013

My brother and I had finished a vacation to two towns in Texas and were in Russia. We stopped at a man's house to spend the night. He spoke English without an accent. We were tired, so he led us to the room we'd be staying in. It was small and had two recliners in it. I sat in one and decided I'd sleep there. He pulled out a folded chair and said it was good for sleeping on. You could unfold it a little, but the best way to sleep on it was to put your feet on it. That way your feet were elevate

On the couch at home

Rating
Tuesday, March 19 2013

I was in the living room of my house in Kayenta. My brother and mother also were there. Tim and I were sitting on the couch. The three of us were talking about rain. I said Texas is in a drought and that it's dangerous when a lot of rain falls in a quick period. Mom argued that it's not. I tried to describe how rain runs off of dry ground instead of being soaked in, which causes flash flooding. I stood up to say something, and Mom got mad at me because I wasn't wearing pants. I was wearing boxe

Fire on UT's campus

Rating
Wednesday, September 5 2012

I was with Danh and Mae on the University of Texas campus. We were walking to a restaurant. We sat down and ordered drinks; I got water. Danh was telling me about how he and Mae aren't affectionate in public. They don't even hold hands. He said some of his friends pulled him aside and told him to ask her out. He laughed and said she's his girlfriend. My water arrived, and we sat there talking. Then Danh's iPad made a beeping noise. He had a tracker on his friend Sean, and the beep meant he was
