Bike becomes SUV; I see a wreck

Rating
Saturday, December 3 2016

I was riding a bike in an unfamiliar city. I was riding behind an older woman also on a bike. I signaled and got in the left lane to turn at an intersection. Before the light changed, the woman rode ahead. She slowed and sped up to make it through traffic. Eventually she made it and rode off. Then I was driving an SUV. My light hadn't changed yet, so I still waited. A pickup drove through the intersection, slammed on its brakes and skidded as it passed. It crashed, but I didn't see wh

I cause martial law

Rating
Tuesday, August 23 2016

Doug and I were on a road trip. We stopped at a McDonald's. We were waiting in a long line to go inside. He told me about a big plan he had that I was going to be part of. There was a cardboard box on the ground that had some kind of button on it. Only it wasn't really a button. It was more like a small opening that had a rainbow inside. Doug told me I had to push it or put my finger in it. I had to hold my finger in it for four seconds. That would declare martial law in the country.

I-95 and large waterfalls

Rating
Tuesday, April 5 2016

I was driving on a part of Interstate 95 that was new to be but felt familiar. I pulled over and looked at a map. I was in one of the Carolinas. This area was surrounded by thick, green trees. It was pretty. I wondered why this area seemed familiar. Then I realized I had driven on it when I was on a long road trip from somewhere north to Florida. I was on the same stretch of road I had driven on just a few years prior. I kept driving. To my left was a large frozen waterfall. It was spring

Stopped by the water to wait for traffic

Rating
Thursday, April 2 2015

I was on a road trip. I was driving east on an interstate though North Carolina. Ahead the road was closed and backed up with traffic, so I pulled over. I wondered about buying a flash for an instant film camera. I had a note from my mom that said only Polaroid 50. That was so she didn't buy the wrong flash when she thought she'd be helping Dad with his hobby.    I looked at my GPS and phone to try to figure out a route, but none looked good. I decided to stay there and m

My brother and I have to change a tire

Rating
Thursday, March 5 2015

My brother was driving us in an SUV. We were headed east on an interstate, but I don't know exactly where we were. We hit something and got a flat tire. He kept driving because we were on a causeway similar to the Interstate 10 causeway in Louisiana. I climbed into the back seat to find the spare tire. I opened the panel and found four spares. They were full size. I pulled one out and asked my brother to read the instructions. I thought there being four tires meant each spare went to a di

Tim drives erratically

Rating
Friday, March 7 2014

My friend Tim R. was driving me on Interstate 35 in Austin. We were heading from my old apartment to his place in North Austin. I apologized for living so far away, but he said he didn't mind. The road was completely clear, so Tim sped up to 90 mph. We took a sharp turn. There was a gas tanker ahead. It had Shell and Circle K logos on it and took an exit to a Shell station ahead. It was going fast, and the station was close, so I wondered how it would stop in time. But since we were on a curve,

A police car follows me

Rating
Friday, January 31 2014

I was driving on an interstate highway. Ahead was a police car that had pulled someone over. I wasn't able to get in the other lane.  When I passed him, he turned his lights on and got on the road. Even though I wasn't speeding, I felt like he wanted me. I sped up and passed some cars. A big semi behind me crashed and blocked both lanes, so I felt better and slowed down.  Ahead of me was a traffic jam. I drove on the shoulder to pass. Everyone slowed to look at a wreck, an

Missing the exit, but it's OK

Rating
Thursday, July 4 2013

I was in a van with Tim Vines and Patti Edwards. Patti was driving the van. We were in an unfamiliar city on an intricate highway system. There were a lot of ramps and overpasses. We had to take an exit in a confusing part of the road. There were two exits immediately next to each other, and the second one looked like it was under construction because it was surrounded by K-rails. We were supposed to take the first exit, but we missed it. Patti improvised and took the second exit, driving sidew
