Driving a P1 in a game

Rating
Saturday, September 16 2017

I was playing a car-driving game on my computer. Tim Vines was with me. It was a training or testing portion of the game. I had a McLaren P1 and was in an L-shaped alley. I had to drive it around the alley testing it out. The view was from the top down. I first straightened it in the alley so I could get to speed. Then I drove forward and Tim Vines kept track of how long it took to get to 60. It felt longer than it should. I went back to the end of the alley. This time I put it in sport mode.

Dancing to '80s music in class

I was in college, but it wasn't the college I went to. We had gotten a big, heavy, wet snowfall. I was walking on campus to a class. Jill was with me. We entered the class, which was shaped like a half circle and had elevated tiers of desks (similar to my freshman English class in high school). We sat in the middle. The professor talked. I got out my notebook. I had one class on top of a half page of notes. I drew a line under that to take notes for this class. The class name was somet

Throwing ice off the roof

Rating
Friday, May 5 2017

I was walking on the roof of a five- or six-story apartment building. I was with someone familiar, possibly Bill Walsh. There were for or five buildings. There was a 2- or 3-foot gap between the buildings. We would climb on the ladder and jump to the next ladder to get to the other building. I was kicking some snow down the roofs. We got to the fourth building. I picked up a big chunk of ice and threw it down. I looked down the edge and saw the ice fall and land on a car, damaging it. I got s

Hiking in the Rockies

Rating
Wednesday, May 3 2017

I was looking at a map on the computer of a road in Colorado that appeared to be near the land my parents used to own. The road winded a lot and went up through the mountains. It went really high. The elevation change went from 13,000 feet to 20,000 feet. I wanted to see this steep road in street view. By going to street view, I was transported there. Now I was hiking on this snow-covered, icy road. There were a couple of four-wheel-drive pickups passing by. I knew I wouldn't be able to m

Small convenience store

Rating
Monday, April 24 2017

I was in a town similar to Flagstaff. It was morning. There was a dusting of snow on the ground. I had just gotten off a bus and walked into a small convenience store. The store was white and had no other buildings around it. The front was all glass. I entered the store. It only had a few shelves and not many items. Some people were in line for the cashier. I went into the restroom. There was a stall and a urinal. The urinal looked like it was made of dark stone. I stood at it and started pee

A hill in Virginia

Rating
Friday, April 7 2017

My brother and I were walking around outside a Williamsburg, Va., hotel. I had my 5D camera and was taking photos of things.    We walked past a hill with cinder on it. There was snow in some areas that were shaded. I climbed to the top and took photos looking down. My friend Kathy walked by and said she'd never think to take that photo.    I walked down the hill to my brother. He pointed out that people were crossing the street against the light. I thought th

Driving on a snowy hill

Rating
Sunday, March 26 2017

I was in Kayenta and driving up the hill from the trading post. There was a lot of snow and ice on the ground. My lane was icy and snowy, but the other lane was clear. Some people were driving up the clear side. I didn't think that was a good idea. I just gunned the engine and made it to the top and stopped at the stop sign. There was a pickup in front and to my left. JP was driving. His wife, Mindy, was in the passenger seat. I rolled my window down and asked what he was doing here and h

Taking photos of snow

Rating
Monday, December 26 2016

I was in my house in Kayenta. I stepped outside to maybe a foot of snow. I grabbed my camera. Only some snow was on the rail of the porch. I took a photo with that and the white scene in the background. I went to the driveway to get more shots. I took a photo of the snow on the fence and snow on a branch. I was shooting at f/5.6 but stopped down to f/8 because it was so bright. But at f/8, the exposure was vastly different. The shutter speed was around 1 second. I didn't know why. I stopp

Mom's on the plane

Rating
Sunday, December 18 2016

Tim Vines and I were on a passenger plane. It was taxiing to the runway to take off. We were seated near the front; I was in the window seat. It was snowing, and there was some old snow on the ground. He asked me about my mom. I said I didn't know where she was, though I think she was on the plane. He said she was behind us. I turned around and looked. She was two rows behind to my left. She saw me and smiled. I waved.

Driving in snow, then paratroopers in sandstone

Rating
Wednesday, December 7 2016

I was driving in Ohio. I was on a highway onramp. It was snowing a lot. I got on the highway. It was three or four lanes, but only one lane was clear of snow. I got in that lane. Two semis were ahead of me. One was passing the other. The one on the right started to fishtail, so I slowed down and got in another lane. That semi crashed across three lanes, so I got into the only open lane and drove on. Somehow I now was flying above the city (maybe Cleveland?). I was a World War II paratrooper.
