Back to Oregon

Wednesday, October 25 2006

I was in a van traveling to the Portland airport. Victor from the Statesman Journal was driving the van. Manny from work was with me. The Statesman Journal was looking at Manny as a potential hire. On the drive back, Victor was telling Manny all the benefits and why it would be a good idea to work for him. I had already decided to go to Ohio, so I don't know why they took me along. In the Denver airport, I had three bags with me for some reason. Joe was with me too, and he was carrying

Cedar Point's last day

Lucidity
Lucid Intent

Tuesday, October 24 2006

I was able to set up a dorm to live in and catch the employee bus without working at Cedar Point this season. I got off the bus at the Cedars dorm and went to the marina gate. I wanted to buy a season pass, but I decided it was a really stupid idea because it was the last day of the season. I decided it was a better idea to get a ticket after 5 p.m., when Starlight admission started. It was 4:58, and I asked if I could get a Starlight ticket. They said it was fine because it was basicall

I had control over the spinning, and I made it spin once we went down the first drop. I spun to the right and banged my leg into a support. It didn't hurt. On the second ride, we were going up the lift hill, and I saw a strange piece of black plastic on the floor below our feet. I kicked it

The Daily Star's copy desk

Sunday, October 8 2006

I was visiting the copy desk at the Arizona Daily Star. They were showing me around and showing me how everything works. It was a noisy desk. People yelled a lot. I stood next to a guy, and he kept bugging me. I knew it wasn't Tim, but he was acting like him. I looked at him and said, "Who are you?" He gave me a weird look, took off his hat and said, "Come on!" It was Tim's brother. He looked exactly like Tim, except he had a goatee and mustache. I walked over to Tim. We joked around a

Working at The News-Messenger

Thursday, October 5 2006

I was paginating two inside pages for the Fremont, Ohio, News-Messenger. The two pages were next to each other, so when you opened the paper, you could see both at once. One page had a jump from the front page, and the other had briefs. As I was laying the pages out, I decided to put a subhed in the jump story. I wrote a two-line hed that was supposed to be a rhetorical question. After that, I worked on the briefs. The briefs were simple and really short. They spanned four columns, but
