Meeting my brother far away

Friday, April 13 2012

I had  to travel to work many miles away to meet my young brother who had gone on ahead of me. But where was this place? He left me a map with a friend  with details of how I could go by train and then take a 5 min walk to my destination. The map looked so nice and led my thoughts on to a cartography day out that had all the trippers turning  into green monsters.

Another bus dream

Thursday, March 15 2012

Oh no, not another bus dream. The fifth in a week. In this one I was heading on a long journey on a double decker and the outward journey was just so pleasant! On the return journey I had sprouted a beard and the ticket inspector said that actually, I need to pay a few extra pence as I was going in the other direction (?) but it didn't matter s the mood was still up. Whilst on this second journey a song  came on the radio. It was the Rock Follies singing 'OK?'. I thought to myself that this

The map

Monday, July 28 2008

I was planning to visit a place that I had a dream about and thought existed in real life. Mum had bought my visit into doubt though, and said that just because I thought something existed, doesn't mean it does. I was looking at a map in front of me, and at some notes I had from my dream, then remembered that I had been through this before, and the place DID exist that time so why not now?

More than a feeling?

Tuesday, July 18 2006

I got onto a busy train and plugged my mp3 into a mains socket. Everybody else could hear that I was playing a Boston CD because it was being broadcast over the public address system but I carried on because it was a pleasant change from the musak that the kids were playing. The staff took a dim view though, and came and removed the adaptor that I was using. A woman with bag was also pushing into me, which irritated me a great deal. A guy was pretending to push people on the railway tra

A journey through twenty airports

Thursday, June 29 2006

I was looking at a route on a map that a plane was taking from London to Sunderland, picking up people at twenty different airports along the way. I calculated that meant 20x take offs and landings for a 500 mile journey, so reasoned it would be quicker by coach! I also witnessed a ritual embalment of an Egyptian who had his head cut off, and then his ears were treated with some kind of sealant to make them last. There was a haunted Tottenham pub and street that I heard was very unsafe t

Day trip to Blackpool

Tuesday, May 16 2006

I went to Blackpool and back by coach in a day. On the way there, the coach got stuck in local traffic and i wasn't sure if I ought to get out and walk or not. I decided against doing so and in fact the coach overtook some passengers who had got out to walk. I was lonely without Sophie so decided to walk awhile, then go back to the coach and home. On my way a group of Chinese people got in my way so I ridiculed them for not walking straight, but all they did was laugh. I also had to writ

A million mile journey with a cup of tea

Monday, June 20 2005

I observed an old man traveling billions of years to earth with a precious liquid which had powers beyond imagination, but for whom and what was purpose? Right at the end he dropped the liquid which was in a cup, and it rolled off to my living room where I eventually caught it after it rolled for ages. With the old man bearing down on me I tried the liquid with a video recorder with no success - eventually putting it to my lips and drinking the contents. It was just weak and milky tea.

The train unzips

Thursday, May 5 2005

I was on a journey on a coach, going across muddy fields and up & down slopes up to the main road. It concerned me that the coach my actually get stuck at the bottom or the top of the slopes. I was watching a train that unhooks at one end, then opens down the middle and *unpeels* to go around a bend. Hard to explain, and I never saw any passengers inside (or outside) the train

Michael Jackson in court / L.A.Woman

Wednesday, March 23 2005

I was at the Michael Jackson trial with Nettie. After being sworn in, I had my headphones up loud and wore a baseball cap. I took this off as a mark of respect to the judge but the music (L.A. Woman by The Doors) I couldnâ??t turn down at all. From here I went on a bus ride to Camden.

The long journey in the snow

Saturday, November 13 2004

A little kid gets onto the back of an open white van and began exploring the contents. I was showing Ian two ways that I hold my pen in my left hand. Then I tried to write with my night and I was quite good at this. I had 49 miles to walk in the snow, pulling a sled with a few other things behind me. 49 miles? I did question the distance but did it anyway.
