Dead End

Monday, January 20 2014

I drove a car down a dead end road and didn't know it was blocked till I had gone too far. I abandoned it when the road narrowed and led to a muddy end. I left it for a while and when I went back I was standing with Bob Dylan and Neil Young,  having a conversation about nothing in particular. When it came to driving the car again it was easier to reverse. A Lou Reed song was playing on my headphones in this dream.

Philosophy with Captain Beefheart

Sunday, September 29 2013

I had set my wifi network to open, and a bike shop had seen this and asked if they could use it and advertise the fact that it was open for if any cyclist came past. I told them I did not mind. Our dog Otto was involved in a philosophy debate with Captain Beefheart and lost. Quite how they communicated is lost to me now.

The Rubettes

Sunday, September 1 2013

This dream involved a young child who had a problem with walking and the way his shoes fitted. He was being seen by a specialist who, on the latest visit found that he had grown into the previously made pair which amounted to 18 percent.  I was talking to friends at work, who gave me a piece of A4 paper and told me to read it. I couldn't, and was holding it for ages to focus my eyes and try to make out my the words were blurred and the paper dark. Finally, I turned on a light and I cou

Brucie And David

Thursday, August 29 2013

I was either at the top of a staircase or a ladder, wanting to go downwards. At the bottom was comedian Bruce Forsyth, and as I took a few steps I then heard Brucie hailing whoever was behind me. It was David Bowie. Bruce then started singing  Long Haired Lover From Liverpool, and as I got very near the bottom I knew I may as well go back up because Bruce only had eyes for Bowie. The funny part about this dream is that when I was 9, I asked my dad to buy me the latest David Bowie 7". H

The Return Of The Son Of Monster Magnet

Saturday, March 30 2013

I was visiting my parents house and was upstairs, looking at a section of their house that was unfamiliar to me. When I considered what I saw I came to the conclusion that there was a section of floor that could be redesigned and made into another room if more wood was laid down. Then I became aware of a Frank Zappa song playing on the stereo close by. I got up and went to turn it down as Dad probably wasn't quite ready for The Return Of The Son Of Monster Magnet yet, but then relent

Van Morrison the TV repair man

Monday, February 11 2013

I was at a small flat of a friend's and one of the guests was Van Morrison. I couldn't think of anything smart to say to him at first, then had the great idea of handing him a guitar and asking if he would be so good as to tune it up for me. I figured that he would not then be able to resist playing a little something afterwards, and that it would be a great story to tell in future of how I got a private Van Morrison concert for free! It didn't quite go as planned though, because when he loo

Guitar Solo

Saturday, January 26 2013

It was only in the past year that I discovered who DIDN'T play guitar solo on Goodbye To Love... Goodbye To Love was playing upstairs on the radio at my parents house and Richard Carpenter rushed upstairs to take the solo. I was so moved by the guitar that it made me cry. I hid behind my bedroom door so I couldn't be seen by a friend. I thought of how since hearing the song on one particular emotive occasion this now always happens, and of how you can listen to music and get

Music With A Buzz

Thursday, January 17 2013

I was watching a television show and it must have been Top Of The Pops. The first band were playing too fast and then too slow and sounded like Chicago. Then up came the second band. That was a video in which there was a crowd with a section in the middle missing. Probably some health and safety feature. The song started and a bee flew into the crowd and everyone was trying to get out of the way and avoid it. I was laughing out loud at that!

Music, Records, Wealdstone and Butter?

Friday, January 4 2013

I was walking with Sophie down a street with plenty of shops to browse through. I found some interesting looking magazines and football programmes from many years ago. Most of these were of Wealdstone F.C. Then I found a record shop with lots of er, lots of records to browse through. I found a recording made by Chas of Chas & Dave from one of his first band Heads, Hands & Feet. Music was playing in my head at this point  and the record looked inter

Live At Leeds At School

Sunday, December 2 2012

I was at school where The Who had just finished recording their Live At Leeds album. The doors to the assembly hall were open and I could see a stage. I thought to myself how small a place for such a band to play. I thought of going in and taking a look but decided against this plan I was traveling back and for reasons not known jumped into the carriage of a train and then went to get off it further down. The doors shut on me as I got off and I piece of paper I had in my hands w
