Eulogy

Sunday, January 6 2013

I was being told at work that so-and-so would be calling by later, and that can I let so-and-so know when he arrives? I go through a process of taking the details of the person arriving and who I need to call and the details became very long winded, ending in my climbing a staircase full of people sitting down and blocking my way. When I reached the top of the stairs I entered a large meeting room. I sat down and listened as a number of people began standing up and talking. An eulogy was tak

Alan Freeman

Sunday, March 25 2012

I was giving a speech on the merits of recording all my dreams in Dream Journal to an audience. It was a fluent speech. Then along came Alan Freeman to hear what I was saying, and I lost where I was up to. Even worse, I lost my speech notes and I stumbled over my lines. Alan gave one of his famous catchphrases 'Alright?' or something like that.

Shoeless

Thursday, April 16 2009

I lost a shoe on a bus to school and so got back on for the return journey and asked on a speaker if anyone had found it. Everyone got off the bus later with shoes and socks off in some kind of sympathy so I wouldn't look odd being the only one missing a shoe. Had arranged to meet a friend in town but had a realisation that I was so far away that I would need to get the train instead.  I was also turning on a light in a room, while a card game was being playing

Speech in the market square

Monday, March 2 2009

I was in a market square, rushing around trying to get to somewhere or other before closing time.  A friend of mine was making a speech in front of a crowd, talking about the death of a man that everyone knew and liked. At the vital point they all wandered off as he continued into a microphone.

The ten dreams dream

Thursday, August 31 2006

There were to be ten speeches made in turn by ten people on the dreams that they had the night before. Sophie was to be the last and I was the last. All I kept thinking of was speaking into a microphone naturally, and not testing out with a '1-2, 1-2' to check the volume. Just before my turn I was walking upstairs with Sophie in front of me. When I got to the top she shut the door so I remained outside. I wasn't sure if she wanted to be on her own or not.

David slides down a telegraph pole

Thursday, September 8 2005

I was watching my younger brother David, who was at the top of a telegraph pole. At a given signal he slid down the wire holding on tightly and wearing protective gloves to protect his hands , nearly falling off at end. A man was giving a boring speech and I wished that I were miles away.

Paul McCartney gets artistic

Thursday, March 31 2005

My signature was being used against me illegally. Paul McCartney was painting a man that he had seen outside a window whilst he was supposed to be giving a speech or a tour guide of a building. I got bored and wanted to move on with a friend. Meanwhile, Prince Rainier was being carried upstairs by stretcher as we wandered off to eat, but were called back.

Leaving work for the last time, again

Sunday, March 14 2004

Sol Levy warehouse a few moments before we leave for the last time. Phil D makes a speech, even though he is an accounts manager and not even working at SL. He says we should all do a masonic handshake and says good luck to everyone. When he sees me he says 'see you on Saturday, Neil.' Peter Cox had been saying how we would not really be going and that we would be back there the next week. We kept telling him to let go as it was all over. He had a photo card that I kept adjusting for him.

Women drivers!

Saturday, September 6 2003

I'm at the edge of the pavement on the corner of a street and as I stand there, a car swerves around the corner and narrowly missing taking me out. I go crazy and gesticulate, shout and curse about how stupid this driver is. Moments later the car and its driver reappear and the driver is a woman who tries to give the excuse that her car had been stolen by a joyrider and that she had found it. Well, I silenced her with a fantastic speech as to how stupid that excuse was and how pathet
