Around the world in eighty toilets

Wednesday, June 20 2012

There were messages left for me on the work answerphone. They were so funny that I wanted to hear them again. I'd tried to make a phone call to a colleague but ended up doing so in America. I was there to meet Sophie's parents who were arriving on a plane. Her brother's young girls were also off the plane but they wouldn't give me a hug. I had a thought that they were were going to be arriving like in the book Around The World In Eighty Days, having to burn a boat for fuel to reach their de

Meeting my brother far away

Friday, April 13 2012

I had  to travel to work many miles away to meet my young brother who had gone on ahead of me. But where was this place? He left me a map with a friend  with details of how I could go by train and then take a 5 min walk to my destination. The map looked so nice and led my thoughts on to a cartography day out that had all the trippers turning  into green monsters.

Wedding day

Wednesday, March 7 2012

I was travelling with Sophie. The direction is not of importance to this dream. As we travelled, it became aware to me as we neared our destination that something was being planned for the two of us. I began thinking that somebody had a plan for a surprise wedding for the two of us. We arrived at a small social club, the likes of which held probably 100-150 people. This would make for a quiet and intimate reception party I thought to myself. The feeling was so strong now that I telephoned my par

Gary Brooker wastes his time

Saturday, July 25 2009

I was in a car park, and Gary Brooker from Procol Harum was standing by a car, waiting to go somewhere. He was the more older version of himself that we know today. I went over and said hello, but he said I must be mistaken and that he was somebody else (he was lying). Sophie told me that he had said something of a similar nature to her as well. I was told that he was waiting to go home after being involved in a football match where half had been played in North London, and then everyone had gon

The smell of urine

Tuesday, April 21 2009

I was with friends, boarding a coach to go on an outing. I made my way to the back and went to sit down, but there was a funny smell of urine that made me think twice about doing so. I finally resolved to take my seat, and noted that a puddle had been mopped up.

Sophie and a Murray Mint

Tuesday, February 10 2009

sophie was driving us into London. I had a packet of Murray Mints that we were sharing, and as we got near to her old house I was thinking of how we were going to go in to a shop and look around for items of interest.

India

Thursday, December 4 2008

I boarded a feeder coach to get me to the airport. I was heading to India and there were a lot of people also from India on the coach, wondering why I was heading there? I made my way to the back of the coach. Travelling to India was an impulse of mine because I didn't even have a place to stay and was just going to find a place to stay when I got there. I said goodbye to some friends at the airport, then realised I had left my tickets on the coach and wouldn't be able to go after all.

Mattress travel

Monday, December 1 2008

Sophie and I were on our travels. We were on a coach and, while she wanted to just sit down on a chair, I felt like laying down on a mattress. I climbed on to one next to sophie but couldn't get comfortable. In my head was a thought that before we set out I hadn't locked the back door of my parents house. Were we to go back or would nobody know?

In the court of the Crimson King

Sunday, November 23 2008

Sophie and I were sitting down at a table  -  on a train or in a cafe I just cannot remember  -  and there was a couple sitting opposite us. We were both listening to the classic In the court of the Crimson King album on headphones, though I was a little behind where she was up to. We were both listening to the last track The court of the Crimson King and Sophie begins to sing 'On soft grey mornings widows cry,the wise men share a joke' and I look at her in surprise because s

Armchair racer

Friday, October 20 2006

I was driving (if that is the right word for it) in an armchair along roads towards my home. Moments away, and I had a crisis of faith because it came to me that the driving was controlled by my thoughts alone, and I couldn't get the armchair to move. I sat in the middle of the road and waited for it to begin moving again. then observed that I had to move backwards a little before moving forwards again.
