The map

Monday, July 28 2008

I was planning to visit a place that I had a dream about and thought existed in real life. Mum had bought my visit into doubt though, and said that just because I thought something existed, doesn't mean it does. I was looking at a map in front of me, and at some notes I had from my dream, then remembered that I had been through this before, and the place DID exist that time so why not now?

Otto and Arthur

Rating
Monday, July 28 2008

Otto was playing in the garden of one of my neighbours. He knew he wasn't supposed to be there so was taking his time looking around and sniffing at things. Being a dog, he couldn't resist leaving his 'mark' on some bush or other. Arthur was NOT going to like that as he was a keen gardener, and when he saw Otto he got a broom and began to shoo shoo to get Otto away from his garden. As I watched from my window, Otto grabbed one end of the broom between his teeth and wrestled Arthur as if thi

Damaged car

Sunday, July 27 2008

I was looking at my car that I had parked up. I had gone back to it and seen that the wheels were buckled up on the rims and looking beyond repair. If I was going to drive it to a garage then I would have to move another one out of the way as it had been parked too close for me to open the drivers door. I reached down to its bumper and lifted it easily out of the way and then from the back for good measure. My other concern was that I had left home without a coat, and that it was without a doubt

Flooded house

Saturday, July 26 2008

I was getting ready for a shower. I turned the water on and then went downstairs to shut the front door. There was a lot of water pouring down from upstairs  -  not from my shower but from being used before  -  and I put a large block of thin wood at the bottom of the stairs to stop the flow going any further. Then I went back upstairs, fully expecting the surface of the bathroom to also be flooded. It wasn't and I got myself a radio  to listen to and blocked the do

The toilet from hell.

Saturday, July 26 2008

At work. A patient was waiting in reception for longer than usual, so I went to chase up her appointment. I came to some unfamiliar rest rooms in a part of the building and made a quick visit to the cubicles. It was then that I remembered why I had not visited before: they were falling apart from old age. They were the toilets you came across where you were desperate to go, but were afraid that there may be something bubbling about underneath the surface of that not so flushed water at the

Cleaning the floor

Friday, July 25 2008

I walked across a floor that was being mopped by a cleaner.  I suddenly realised what I had done and glanced behind me, expecting to see a long trail of muddy footprints. What I saw was dried mud in little footprints. The cleaner simply swept them up into a little pile before scooping them into a bin.

Was it something that I said?

I got on a bus and remarked to the driver that it was beginning to snow. The driver appeared disinterested at my comment and even went right past my stop when I rang the bell. He put me off in an unfamiliar part of town, and so I had to walk back to where I wanted to get off. The jeans that I was wearing were tucked in to my socks, and no matter how I pulled at them I couldn't get them back down over my socks.

I was at a new job and helping out a colleague with some of his work. One of my bosses noticed how quick I had been working, and noted that I might be easy to blackmail.

The cooked breakfasts

Rating
Wednesday, July 23 2008

I had ordered 6 CD's on the internet. The next day when I went to work, there were 6 cooked breakfasts awaiting my arrival! Apparently, the breakfasts were a free gift that came along with online purchases. I was unsure if I ought to even attempt eating at least two of them, but at least a couple of people had taken matters into their own hands and taken one away with them to their desk.

Most favourite CD of all

Rating
Tuesday, July 22 2008

I was comparing lots of my favourite albums and some of my not so favourites. I would take two at a time from a selection of sixteen, discarding one at a time till I eventually had four left. I had Wings 'Band on the Run' and 'Red Rose Speedway', along with another Paul McCartney-related album and finally Joni Mitchell's 'Blue' or 'For the Roses'. Of these, I finally elected the Joni Mitchell CD to be the best.
