The Significance Of A Trickle

Thursday, April 5 2012

I only got to take notes a while after awakening, so this is vaguer than it should be, apologies. I believe this was all the same dream. In part, it was early in the day, sunny out, maybe summer or later in the spring. I was at home with Dad; not sure about my mother. I think I went outside for some reason but must have missed the mailman going by, for when I returned to the back porch, I found the mail on the top step; the mailman sets the mail on the porch when there are packages too big to fi

One Gloomy November Day...

Friday, November 18 2011

Fragments from a sort-of dream I had while napping/dozing upright this afternoon. The dream was taking place at home and it seemed to be evening at some points, though the exact time was indeterminate. Both parents were there, I believe. It was overcast, gloomy, probably the same time of year as it really is, with the trees barren and everything brown and gray. I can't recall what all exactly was going on but the parts of the dream I remember seemed mainly to have to do with feeding the birds an

The Ugly Ducklings

Saturday, February 12 2011

Well, I've finally had a dream I can remember well enough to take down, though I'm afraid it's rather boring. I believe these were in fact the same dream but the plot of both is quite different, and I can't remember any segue from one into another, so I'll treat them separately. I was at home with my parents; I think perhaps it was evening as the lighting outside was dim, but the direction of the light was kind of odd (it was overcast, BTW), so I can't be sure. I don't think it was winter in the

The Frustrating Filling Of Feeders

Tuesday, January 18 2011

From a brief nap upright on the couch in the afternoon. I went outside to put the day's second helping of birdseed in the feeders, meaning it must have been around 2:30PM, though the lighting was such as to make it seem like late evening or early morning. I can't clearly recall putting out the food, I just know that I did; I don't know if I put any in the side feeder which is visited mostly by squirrels. Perhaps it was still full as it often is lately. I'm also not sure if I put any in the pie t

A Fresh Batch Of Squirrels

Friday, October 8 2010

Vague by now, might be part of a larger dream. Basically, I discovered that a new batch of red squirrels had been born recently. I went to look at the bird feeder standing near the dining room window and was delighted by the sight of at least two or three tiny, TINY red squirrels seated within, eating. I mean they were TINY--much smaller than juvenile red squirrels really are. They were smaller even than flying squirrels, maybe the size of fat mice. They weren't newborn babies, but they were you

Dang Raccoons!

Sunday, May 9 2010

Nothing specific. I just know it was daytime (morning or late evening?--the sun was low, with long shadows, and it seemed brownish and misty out), I believe my parents were home, and I was greatly frustrated having to keep chasing raccoons away from the house. They kept getting into the bird food, I guess, perhaps both on the front porch and at the side feeder, and they would not go away; I had to keep chasing them off over and over again. I believe it was more than one. They would rush off when

Bird Table

Wednesday, April 21 2010

I don't recall much. Just that it was daytime, probably sunny, and I was at home with both parents. I was looking out the front porch door at the birds eating (recurring theme), and somehow the porch had flooded from a recent heavy rain (another somewhat recurring theme which I haven't covered much). I guess the rain had passed but there were several inches of water, perhaps, on the porch and steps, which in reality would be impossible, as the porch is enclosed on one side with only an iron rail

The Lynx From The Sky

Thursday, March 25 2010

Close on the heels of a dream about a bear on our porch (see "Go Away, Bear!") comes this dream. Vague, I recall only small details. I was in the dining room in the daytime and things looked different--it seemed more spacious and much lighter than in reality, like the walls were white and gray or something, oddly. The window was still in much the same position though the view was slightly different, not too much so, as the chimney stack was still visible and the standing bird feeder was still th

Pyrrhuloxia

Wednesday, January 13 2010

I went to look at the birds feeding on the front porch stool feeder. I know! Highly original dream, isn't it? Anyway...it was daytime and seemed overcast though it might not have been winter; I'm not sure. I feel both my parents were home; perhaps it was early afternoon. There was still a feeder in the place of the stool feeder with its pie tin of sunflower seeds, but as in most such dreams the view was a bit different, as if the porch were constructed a bit differently and/or the feeder was a b

Never Enough Food

Tuesday, December 29 2009

Vague by now. I just remember it was daytime, perhaps afternoon, and didn't seem to be winter but perhaps sunny, and I kept having to put food in the bird feeders, over and over again. There were the two on/near the front porch and perhaps also the one near the dining room window (see "Flying Squirrel Jamboree!" and the dreams referenced therein), though I don't recall the latter as well; there might have been different feeders too. The look of the front porch was somewhat different--higher, per
