Who Will Take The Toppled Tree?

Wednesday, December 8 2010

It's been a few days since I had this so my recollection might be vague. It was daytime, slightly overcast though not terribly so, and in fact it looked rather balmy outside even though it must have been either late autumn or early spring as the trees were all bare. Why then did it look balmy? I guess the lighting wasn't that cold gray you get when it's not nice out; it was a bit warmer and yellower than that. The atmosphere made it seem more like spring was on the way, though it was likely autu

The Lynx From The Sky

Thursday, March 25 2010

Close on the heels of a dream about a bear on our porch (see "Go Away, Bear!") comes this dream. Vague, I recall only small details. I was in the dining room in the daytime and things looked different--it seemed more spacious and much lighter than in reality, like the walls were white and gray or something, oddly. The window was still in much the same position though the view was slightly different, not too much so, as the chimney stack was still visible and the standing bird feeder was still th

Poor Broken Tree

Wednesday, September 23 2009

I forgot this dream fragment until perhaps an hour or so after awakening and was so relieved to realize it hadn't happened. In reality some time yesterday I heard an odd, loud noise from upstairs or outside and wondered what it was--I had brief thoughts that a large branch or even a tree had fallen, then brushed the idea off as it hadn't been nearly THAT loud. That possibly influenced the dream or provided the basis for the plot, as I guess I had heard a loud sound at some point earlier in/prior

The Labor Day Bridge Walk

Lucidity
Lucid Intent

Wednesday, September 9 2009

From the past few days. Vague. I just recall that I was out somewhere with Ma, in town (which town?) or maybe even on Mackinac Island; it seemed like the edge of a city/town with concrete structures and such. *shrug* Anyway, the Mackinac Bridge was visible from here and the Labor Day Bridge Walk was underway. (Basically, an event where thousands of people walk across the Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day. It's a big event but I've never participated, mainly due to my fear of crowds/heights/water and

Tom's Problem Tree

Wednesday, September 9 2009

From the past several days. Vague. In my dream, for some reason an old high school classmate, Tom F., was our next-door neighbor, living approximately where Mrs. B.'s house would be in the woods if the "new" neighbor who moved in between us weren't there. The perspective was skewed as the house seemed really far away yet it couldn't have been; the woods' floor also seemed to slope like in gradual hollows and rises and was coated with dead leaves. Aside from that it looked approximately the same

Falling Into Hell

Monday, December 3 2007

Darn it! I should've taken notes, I remember this only woefully now. :( Well, it seemed to start out with myself and another person on the elementary school playground. It may have been late autumn or spring as I think the trees were bare, but there was still grass and there was no snow. Sometime earlier in the dream, we had ordered something (earlier in the day I believe), and we were wondering if it had come in yet, even though we'd only just ordered it. I seemed to recall being told that it

Tree Loss

Sunday, October 21 2007

There was a great windstorm in the area, and one of the victims was the maple tree which stands at the protected corner of our house, within a concrete circle. I have no idea why this tree is within a concrete circle but it is, and over time the circle, which is planted with lilies-of-the-valley, has cracked and sprung up due to ice and roots. Well, in the dream, when I went outside in the daytime to survey the damage the wind had left behind, I saw that this tree had fallen, leaving a section

Stop Falling! Stop Falling!

Thursday, October 4 2007

This dream was either synchronistic or slightly precognitive. I don't recall it very well, but it was daytime, sunny out, and for some reason lots of trees and/or their branches were falling around our house, in particular over the long driveway. There was a row of trees there (before the woods) and they were much closer than in real life, right along the driveway, and they seemed to be different from the maples or else were missing their bark since they were light brown and not gray. The

Couch To Basement In One Second Flat!

Friday, September 3 2004

This is a dream I had while napping on the couch last night. This is all jumbled and bits are missing so I'm going in the best order I can, possibly inaccurate. In the dream Ma and I were seated on the couch at night; she was on her end in the light (it seemed to be nighttime), while I sat beside her, facing her and with my right elbow resting on the back of the couch. I seemed to be talking to her while she beaded or crafted something. I felt a cool draft on my arm and wondered what it was. I t

The Fair Samaritan

Friday, July 25 2003

This dream is from my regular sleep. I was riding downtown headed home with somebody, probably Ma, when I looked to my left and noticed big Ferris wheels spinning on the fairground--much bigger than it would have been possible for me to see in such detail. "I didn't know the fair was here already!" I exclaimed, wanting to go see it; and then suddenly, I was there on the fairgrounds, with some girl friends of mine who I had known from school. We were walking around in a group and we approached so
