A Weather 180

Friday, March 23 2012

Fragment. Vague, all I recall is the theme and an image. I know that it was snowing/raining, perhaps first one and then the other, or maybe just a combination, though I feel it was more snow, at least at first. There was quite an accumulation of it on the ground and in the tree branches. It was daytime and I was at home, presumably with both parents. Probably early afternoon. I knew the weather was miserable, but it didn't occur to me to pay much attention to it until I started to recall how dis

What Shall We Do About The Tree?

Tuesday, February 21 2012

Last night some more dream fragments seemed to come a bit more clearly to me than lately. I didn't take note of the first dream I sort of (and now no longer) recalled since I remember thinking it was pretty convoluted. I recalled this dream fragment only after I'd been awake for a while, and delayed writing it up, so it's hazy, but at least it's something. The beginning and end and exact order of things is lost, but it had something to do with the tree in our front yard. In reality, as far back

So What Was Wrong With THAT Tree...?

Saturday, October 8 2011

All I pretty much remember is that Dad had had another one of our trees cut down. It was summery, bright and warm outside, though the light was at an angle; not sure if it was more toward morning or night, though it was obviously at some point of the afternoon. I'm not sure if Ma was there with us. There might have been other male relatives at some point, perhaps to remove the tree (though in reality we had a tree-removal service cut the tree in our front yard and a couple along the side yard).

I Could Climb It Before!

Sunday, July 10 2011

This dream might have shifted out of "Fleeing In The Dark." Just a snippet. The location made me think of the area of the Black River Elementary School playground near Upper Hall, I think we called it, where grades 4-6 were located. This was the part of the playground that the older kids usually kept to, while the younger kids kept to their own area. I don't know if this was a rule, it just seemed to be that way and it was a terrible faux pas if you ventured onto the "wrong" side of the playgrou

Who Will Take The Toppled Tree?

Wednesday, December 8 2010

It's been a few days since I had this so my recollection might be vague. It was daytime, slightly overcast though not terribly so, and in fact it looked rather balmy outside even though it must have been either late autumn or early spring as the trees were all bare. Why then did it look balmy? I guess the lighting wasn't that cold gray you get when it's not nice out; it was a bit warmer and yellower than that. The atmosphere made it seem more like spring was on the way, though it was likely autu

Trees For Armor

Thursday, August 12 2010

Very vague by now as I'm typing this up days later. It was kind of muddled after I had it and I couldn't remember it well anyway. I do know that it was daytime, maybe late morning, and light but probably overcast out. I was at home with Dad; I don't know if Ma was present. I must have been sitting at the computer for it was out the dining room window that I noticed some strange men doing something to one of our side maples. It's like they were cutting it down except the upper part of the tree wa

Please Don't Cut The Trees

Friday, April 23 2010

Faded by now. I can't recall how things started, but it was daytime, I believe both parents were home, and I somehow suddenly realized that there was a crew outside cutting down one of our trees. I don't know how I discovered this--if I had just awakened, or just happened to be passing a window, or what, but I saw several men and some heavy work equipment (like earthmovers) by the woods to the south of our house, working on cutting down a tree, and I panicked and rushed outside to meet them. It

Poor Broken Tree

Wednesday, September 23 2009

I forgot this dream fragment until perhaps an hour or so after awakening and was so relieved to realize it hadn't happened. In reality some time yesterday I heard an odd, loud noise from upstairs or outside and wondered what it was--I had brief thoughts that a large branch or even a tree had fallen, then brushed the idea off as it hadn't been nearly THAT loud. That possibly influenced the dream or provided the basis for the plot, as I guess I had heard a loud sound at some point earlier in/prior

Tom's Problem Tree

Wednesday, September 9 2009

From the past several days. Vague. In my dream, for some reason an old high school classmate, Tom F., was our next-door neighbor, living approximately where Mrs. B.'s house would be in the woods if the "new" neighbor who moved in between us weren't there. The perspective was skewed as the house seemed really far away yet it couldn't have been; the woods' floor also seemed to slope like in gradual hollows and rises and was coated with dead leaves. Aside from that it looked approximately the same

The Wind In The Leaves

Wednesday, February 20 2008

This dream was from around February 16th. This is how I took the dream down in my journal: I guess it was windy, and nighttime (dark blue out), as I was worried about a tree falling. Ma and Dad were present and sympathetic. Bright inside. I heard a horrific crashing noise and was so full of dread, but the branch(es?) didn't seem to hit anything. I went outside and now it was daytime, maybe morning. Stood in the side driveway and stared up at the northern sky. Wind was blowing leaves past in circ
