Dinner With Drake

Saturday, August 28 2004

Didn't take notes, so this is vague. I think Ma and I were in some city--maybe like the one in "Wait, You're Not Phil Collins!"--and for some reason we were going to go pay a visit to...Drake, one of the characters in my fantasy serial Manitou Island. O_o In that story, Drake was fourteen years old and a geeky annoying little squirt; in the in-progress sequel, he doesn't appear until near the very end, because he's now fifteen and hit his growth spurt so he's a lot taller, with a deeper voice, a

The Story Is Already Written

Tuesday, August 24 2004

I took notes for this, as it was clear between rounds of sleep, yet it's somewhat foggier now even with the notes, sorry. I was in some kind of very large class. The room was built like an auditorium, but a lot bigger--I think it sloped upward or downward toward the front/back, was carpeted (red?), with dark walls and a high ceiling, and lots of seats or desks in horizontal rows (parallel to the front of the room), maybe with an aisle down the middle. It was lit by electrical light; I don't reme

Ripoff!

Wednesday, August 18 2004

Ma and I, and maybe some other people, were in some sort of fancy store that sold little things like figurines and maybe jewelry and such; you know, more expensive, unique items. There were lots of glass display cases. The lighting was warm and yellow and there was this well-dressed but rather snooty older (forties?) lady in charge. Maybe she had a black dress. I went to one shelf and picked up or looked at...something, I don't remember what--possibly a little figurine. I seem to think maybe I w

Wait, You're Not Phil Collins!

Wednesday, August 18 2004

I was downtown in some sort of city; it looked nothing like Cheboygan, though I seemed to know it at least somewhat. It was nighttime and the streetlights were on; people were wandering around doing things. It may have been cold as people may have been wearing coats but I'm not sure. Ma was around and I seemed to be wandering all over looking for different things, maybe interesting stores. I didn't feel lost or anxious or anything, more curious I suppose. The city was a nice one with trees every

Stormlight

Wednesday, August 18 2004

This is from yesterday (18th) so I don't remember it well. This seemed to be part of a bigger dream. I was upstairs in my brother Eric's old room, heading toward where the bed would be. Only instead of that, in my dream it was a mattress bunk built right into the wall, suspended by two supports of some kind, like chains or bars--it didn't have supports beneath it, that I can recall. Also, it seemed to be at an angle to the wall, so the wall must have been sloping inwards toward me (wider at the

The Eighties Bus & The Forgotten Moons

Sunday, August 15 2004

I'll treat these disconnected images all as the same dream, because for all I know they are. I didn't take any notes; these are just the images that stayed with me. One part involved me getting ready to record my Saturday-night cartoons on Cartoon Network. In real life this is a very bothersome process since they don't air commercial breaks between the first few programs, and I have to flip tapes like a DJ switching disks. Well, in the dream I seemed to be having an abnormal amount of trouble. I

The Ostrich In The Ditch, The Ostrich In The Ditch...

Thursday, August 12 2004

I can't recall what came before but I ended up walking out into the living room. It was daytime, light outside but overcast, and I feel it was either late fall or early spring since it was cold and I seemed to be wearing a coat, inside the house. Dad was home but seemed to be busy with something. I went to look out the front window and got a great view of the ditch, as if the big tree in the yard were not even there. In real life the ditch is full of tall weeds and grass but in my dream it just

Wanted: Rick Springfield

Wednesday, August 4 2004

I was in the bathroom taking a bath and either watching a TV show or listening to a radio program, though I believe it was the former, even though I don't seem to remember distinct images. I just know that the themesong of this particular show was Richard Marx's "Children Of The Night," and since I like that song I was singing along to it. I was leaning closer to the left ("window" side) of the tub, on the edge of it. I remember that parts of the song had to be cut ou
