I am not sure what was going on in this dream. I am wandering around outside, it's kind of dark out, but not quite night time. I am also a man in this dream. I seem to be vaugely aware that something about my situation was weird, but I never did make the connection. So I don't know if this counts as a lucid dream. I didn't know I was dreaming, but I was at least somewhat aware that things were not like they aught to be.
Anyway, in the dream I recall wearing a long black coat. There are many houses around, and I seem to be looking for something, or maybe someone. Somewhere along the way I encounter a hyena, which definitely should not have been there. This was not Africa, this was an American suburb. I forget what occurred concerning the hyena, just know it was there. I don't think I went near it.
Somewhere along the way I fall into somekind of trap, and I have all these metal shards in my chest and around my left ankle. The pain in excruciating, and I try my best to pull out the metal thorns as fast as I can. There are so many of them. I try to pull out the ones in my chest first, it seems more important. The metal shards are so dense it's like I have metal fur or something, right there in my chest. My blood is oozing all down the front of me as I grit my teeth tugging at the bunches of metal.
When I finally removed all the metal peices from my chest, I start on my ankle, but I am pretty dizzy from the loss of blood by now. I feel like I've been skinned, and I am breathing hard and shivering. The peices of metal in my ankle seem to be harder to remove, but I don't know if it's because they were more deeply embedded into my skin and bone, or if it was the case that I am just losing conciousness, and that is why it was getting hard.
Eventually I can't even sit up anymore, and I lay on my back. It's getting darker, and I am feeling pretty scared at this point. I forget why. I think while I was looking for whatever, I knew someone was also looking for me, and that I don't want them to find me. I can't remember anything else.

Now I can't remember who I was traveling with, but there were two other people. I am pretty sure they were unrealted to me, but not unfamiliar people. I am riding around with them in a van, and we stop at some place in a parking lot. I remember offering to help wash the van while we're here, but they don't want to do that. There is a building here, and I think it was a bank. I am not sure anymore. I walk with one of the people I am with toward the back of the building so we can stretch our legs a bit. It gets really sandy at the side and then there is nothing but sand from there on. After we are finally all the way behind the building I spot a pocket knife in the sand. I go to pick it up, and as I do that I see two more pocket knifes. I jokingly challenge me friend to a match to see who can pick up the most pocket knives. I go to pick up the second and third ones when I see what looks like an enormous leatherman the size of a four drawer locker. Or at least it seemed to be that big at first, but then it was regular sized. I then notice that the sand around here seems to be down right full of pocket knives, exacto knives and then I even found some swords. I find the swords when I slip a little bit into a shallow ditch. I rip the back of the leg of my pants and whatever I scraped against cut me a little bit. I ease down into the ditch to sit down and the cut is minor. That's when I find a sword in the sand, and lift it out. I am really surprised. From this slightly lower angle I can see all the shiney silvery metal sticking up all over the place. I am a little worried because there are other people here, including some kids, who might get seriously hurt on all this sharp stuff.
While in the ditch I sort of three swords, and then I also find some golf clubs mixed in among all the sharp objects. For some reason I recall wanting to plan to bring the swords and the knives I have found so far back to the van with me, but I also must have thought that I wasnt' supposed to do this, even though the items have been lost or abondoned (in other words no one owned them). I wanted to hide the swords among the golf clubs. In the end I decided not to try to smuggle the swords back to the van, thinking it was too risky.
