ancient Egypt and a pyramid

Something about ancient Egypt and a pyramid. I can't remember too much of this part of the night's dreams. At the end of it, though, I had a piece of parchment paper in my hands that had some kind of magical writing on it. "Please, still be in my hands when I wake up!" I wished out loud. I woke up, and my hands were folded across my chest...without the paper!

I got up, ate breakfast and went back to sleep.

I seemed to be living back in S__. The house I used to live in there looked different, though. But I didn't seem to notice. What I did notice was that a lot of snow had fallen...at least four feet...and Dad and I needed to get my car out of the driveway to go to the store. We got in and I tried just backing up out of the driveway, for there didn't seem to be as much snow on it.

It's funny I dreamed this, for right as I went to bed I read about the severe winter storm that's headed this way. As I write this, it's just beginning. I think I dreamed about it because it was on my mind.

Anyway, out in the street we drove past snowplows going the other way down it. When I got up to the main road, Dad had somehow disappeared from the dream and I was now by myself. I drove right into the shopping area of a department store, as if it was connected right to the road. I stopped, though, because I was worried my car wouldn't fit in the aisles.

I found myself back at the house. There was a short man there now with my dad, and we all stood around talking. While there was still a lot of snow everywhere else, it was spring in my front yard...yellow gladiolas were blooming and the grass was green.

I think that may have been the thing that clued me in to it being a dream. "This is a dream!" I said to my father and the man. "Everything we see around us isn't real. We are the only real things here."

The man grew very fearful at what I had told him. It seemed I had upset his concept of what reality was. As he looked at me with a scared expression, I noticed that the resolution of him wasn't that high. I could see the little block-shaped pixels that his appearance was composed of.

The whole area had somehow turned into the inside of a large warehouse. I took a little jump and flew up into the air. I zoomed up toward the ceiling next to a wall that was on the opposite side from the wall that had windows in it.

But the dream was beginning to fall apart. Every time I finally got near the ceiling, I would suddenly find myself only about 3/4 of the way up it. Over and over this happened. Eventually I grew tired of it, and directed my gaze down at the floor. THIS caused me to zoom downwards, and then right through the floor as if it was made of air. I kept plunging downwards at a very high speed, right through many stories underground.

I woke up.

a man dressed in black and with a cynical expression

The first dream of the night was very intense. I can't remember any details of it, except that I think it was about something happening over and over that had to do with me having magical powers.

I woke up, had breakfast, went back to sleep and went right back into dreaming.

Then I was watching the end of a Star Trek episode on tape. But I kept rewinding back a little ways at a time, because I realized I had missed more of the end of it than I originally thought. I remembering marvelling at what clever writing it must have had, and what a good plot. I can't remember any of the details, though, except that there was something about an escalator.

Then I became involved in some covert operation. The leader of it was a man dressed in a business suit. He was driving the station wagon we were in at a breakneck speed. He had to slow down when the freeway suddenly went downwards at a sharp angle, and it entered into an underground garage. We arrived at a room in the garage that was dark and full of junk. We got out, and he started giving us orders to move a lot of stuff around in preparation for whatever illegal thing it was that we were going to do. I found a candlepin bowling ball wedged into a soft drink can that had its top removed, which prompted someone else to say, "Let's go bowling!" But I went over to an antique pot belly stove and opened its heavy door, looking for something to eat.

Slowly I became lucid. The inspiration that I could ask for whatever I wanted to struck me. What did I want to do?

Seemingly in response to this, a man dressed in black and with a cynical expression walked out of the shadows. He had reddish hair. "You're it now," he said to me without any joy in his voice whatsoever. He lightly touched the knuckle on one of my hands. "Now follow me."

I walked with him back into the pitch black darkness of the garage. We went through extremely twisted corridors, until we came to an open spot where a camera on the ceiling pointed down at me. There was a bright light bulb next to it. Somewhere along the way I had grabbed a helium balloon, and it bobbed around next to me.

"Look up and let go of the balloon," he said dryly.

I did, but the balloon flew up and blocked the camera lens. I waited for the heat from the light bulb to pop it, but I woke up instead.

I dreamed that I was back in school again. L___, my computer graphics teacher who actually taught me, was looking over all my artwork that I had done for the semester. I had it all spread out in a room in a quaint country cottage, and there were tall trees surrounding the area outside. I was very happy with my work. I had made movies, done computer animations, painted oil paintings, etc. But when I went to show the short film I had made, I realized I had not made arrangements for a projector. This upset me, because I was quite proud of the film I had made and I really wanted to show it.

    I woke up.
